The media would still be saying that "someone was left behind".
When the operation began, the number of evacuations that was mentioned as needed was 70-80,000. They have reached that number.
But, someone will be left behind. That will be the story.
No matter how many people are evacuated.
Up to this point, it has been a success.
Some might even call it an American "victory"?

(4,002 posts)The troops will probably evacuate 100,000 people but that wont be enough. We need to get ready for the hue and cry.

(19,131 posts)when he cut and ran from Syria again?
None! That would mean a shitload of Kurds were executed by Syria, and that would mean the media and republicans are freaking hypocrites, right?
I think Jeff Teidrich tweeted something about this recently. Credit where credit is due.

Anything at all to take Biden down a notch, even if they sacrifice some of their journalistic integrity to do so.

I think that particular sacrifice was burned long ago on the altar of corporate politics. Nothing left now but ashes.

Meanwhile Ron DeSantis and other governors are killing more people each day than the Taliban.

That is a fact.

(111,049 posts)But, if Biden and the military can pull this off, and save tens of thousands of Afghan people from the Taliban , it would be sort of a victory. It would be one bright spot from the 20 year war.

Eyes on the prize. We are the only good guys who can save our nation these days, and people will always need us to be there for them. Including those who wish they could sic an American Taliban on us.

People are going to die, just like people are dying as a result of the other situations putin directed traitor to create. But by God, President Biden and his team have saved a lot of lives, in site of the adversity of our enemies!

(9,045 posts)One administration official said the number of people who needed to be evacuated could be more than 100,000. The International Rescue Committee has a much higher estimate: 300,000 Afghan civilians alone

I wish that were the case... but what if we did get 300k out? What next... another 300k another 500k, etc?
There has to be a limit.

(8,906 posts)Pendejo45 pulled out our troops in Syria and abandoned the Kurds and allowed 11,000 ISIS terrorists free?
That's how they should be framing this.
Biden supports the Afghans that supported us for 20 years, yet
Pendejo45 wouldn't support the Kurds and left them behind to be slaughtered.
