To not wear a mask, shouldn't they have to prove it, like a doctor's waiver or something?

about 2 kids who were thrown out of a CA school because they refused to wear a mask on religious grounds.

(Yes, I'm aware I shouldn't believe everything I see online.)

One, a cousin raised like the rest of our family as regular Catholics. She married and they two went into the Charismatic mode, which started their odyssey of experimentation going on 40 years. I don't know what the several different things they've tried or what they are now. Lots of Bible quotations in any communication, meet-ups with prayers and physical motions, and plenty of proselytizing and attempts to convert anybody. Some mentions of Judaism and (Pentacostal?). Are advanced education, possibly in Theology. They are totally anti-vax.

The other and family converted from Catholicism to Pentacostal about twenty years ago but might be a different branch, do a lot of the same Bible studies and heavily into Prophecies, advocating the End of the World, the Anti-Christ, so that (Christ?) comes to rule. They've had three or more covid deaths but I don't think they're anti-vax, I know of several of the religious ones who are vaxxed.

Really I don't know anything about their specific beliefs because when they all converted I drew the line against religious topics. Although I've been Lapsed for over sixty years, I don't like to hear stuff like, Catholics worship statutes and something/who-knows about the Virgin Mary. They actually seem to be more oriented to the Old Testament, I think.

******** ON EDIT: Whups, just noticed that the O.P. is about *MASKS* - somehow I snapped into VAX mode.

Anyone with such a defiling disease must wear torn clothes, let their hair be un-kept, cover the lower part of their face, and cry out "Unclean! Unclean!".

As long as they have the disease they remain unclean. They must live alone, they must live outside the camp.

New International Version.

Seriously....claiming "religious grounds" is the new go-to excuse for anything. One of my kids got a bully in high school to back off after claiming the ponytail he wore was a religious requirement (claimed he was a Samsonite--you see them hanging out at airports all the time...I don't think the bully ever did get the joke!)
Some try to claim that it is sinful to cover up the face because we're made in the image of God, which is total BS and never heard before the pandemic.
