(82,849 posts)But his plane's in the shop, see, but he'd totally have gotten everyone out of Afghanistan, see, in a huge operation like nobody had ever seen, see, the biggest and best evacuation since his Great Hamberder Evacuation of 2019, see, nobody wants to get those people out more than he does, see, they're always coming up to him with tears in their eyes, see, and telling him thank you sir for all the people you would have evacuated except your plane's in the shop, see, nobody could believe how many people he could have saved, see.

(58,785 posts)Of course. Her career has always focused on advancing the rights and wellbeing of women and children. When she was young, family law was the poor, despised-relation wing of the law, and with all the big doors open for her to Wall Street, SCOTUS, she chose women and children.
It is clear that Afghan women are rightly afraid not just for their rights and the Constitution that was written to protect them, but literally afraid that the gains they have made with all of our help will be washed away in a rush to achieve a peace that will not hold anyway. This is not just morally wrong. This is dangerous. ...
Clinton had warned what the humanitarian consequences of a withdrawal from Afghanistan would be following the two decades the U.S. spent in the country. ... This is what we call a wicked problem. There are consequences both foreseen and unintended of staying and of leaving, she told CNN in May. Clinton noted that the U.S. was facing two huge consequences of withdrawal: the threat from the Taliban and the number of refugees the situation would likely create as a result./div]
