In 2018, Trump stated at the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery near Paris, that Americans Who Died in War Are Losers and Suckers
The president has repeatedly disparaged the intelligence of service members, and asked that wounded veterans be kept out of military parades.
So as the Republicans disparage President Biden for the way he is ending the 20 year war that Trump promised to end, but could not close the deal, let us all remember that they did not speak up to their own leader when Trump disrespected our fallen American heros while in France. I thought that the Republicans stood for the military. If that is true, why are they choosing to turn the deaths of 13 Maines today in Kabul by a suicide bomber into a political weapon against Biden instead of honoring their sacrifice. That is something that can only be viewed as disrespect to the soldiers who put their lives on the line for our country as they try to execute the removal of our citizens and the Afghans who served alongside us. For at least one day, I would hope that the Republicans could stand united with the Democrats to honor those who perished. That would be an expression of patriotism that would be more fitting than the false patriotism that comes from the party that attempted to overthrow our democracy.

(22,077 posts)served. Pathetic. Like Mr. Bone Spurs really has any authority to say on the matter of those who served in our Services in this Country, when he himself took the coward's way out and got a fake medical deferment (IMHO, rump has zero authority to speak on service to this Country on any matter).
Again, best wishes to your friend...

(8,680 posts)Posted an image of President Biden, head down in prayer, saying he is showing weakness. Go damn it sent Jr, Eric and even Baron over there to the battlefield, and exhibit HIS image of strength. Hell, send em to Africa, without guns and body guards and a support group to protect their slimy asses, and send in the big cats, elephants and water buffalos. Damn I hate all those trump assholes. Every damn chicken shit one of them.

(406 posts)His kids are just more expendable jetsam to discard and deflect from his own misdeeds. If they weren't also so damaged and reprehensible I might feel sorry for them. However, my f's are all gone and we've got a Cat 3 headed this way. Wish it would go to Merde-a-lago instead.

(8,680 posts)If that Cat 3 hits Mississippi and Louisiana hard and takes power out, lots of vents will be shut down. Or Texas with its top of the line power grid. Does Cruz have any vacation days left. He sure as hell has not worked any this year.

(2,689 posts)And in this instance, it seems to the Republicans, their voters and their Party, that it is more profitable politically to attack the man who has suffered loss, himself, who has wept for the dead (and been called weak for it by a junior fascist), the man who has engineered a superb evacuation in the face of vicious terrorists, than to honor the ultimate sacrifice made by so many in service to their country.
I choose not to waste my more colorful vocabulary on the sedition-mongering party of craven and cowardly fascist-plutocrats. They are, all of them, beneath the contempt of obscenity.

Bible, constitution, family, the list is almost unending.
They use hate and fear to control the constituents necessary to give them the local votes to control governments, local, state, and national.
It is all about POWER!

(11,725 posts)Republicans want power. Whatever concept, person, event, etc... they can use in the moment, to get power or to challenge the power of another entity to steal that power, they will use.
They do not argue in good faith. They really do not believe any of the "values" they purport. They simply believe that they should be in charge and will do anything to obtain and maintain that.
