Only 6 have been sentenced,
and 39 more convicted (awaiting sentencing)
and 286 have been indicted and are awaiting trials or plea deals.
And 592 been arrested and charged (not yet indicted)
And 1 died
And 1 case was dismissed!

From their homepage you can see the latest arrests, and select to view all of them sorted by either state, status, date or name.

So not many are in prison. More are in jail awaiting trial at this point.

I've seen articles in the news here and there about rioters who are out on bail and have violated conditions. I'd be curious about that data, how many had those issues. I think the threats more broadly are getting more attention as we go. I can report that there were some prosecutors who were working on the January 6 case that have received threats, and that is something the FBIis looking into and urging anyone to communicate when they receive those sort of things.

But because there is this huge political movement bubbling up on the right, in fact, someone who is formally on Trump’s campaign is organizing this movement and this rally next month to sort of gather in support of people who have been locked up ahead of trial. The people locked up pre-trial at this moment are some dangerous folks. Overall they are caught on video committing violence against law enforcement and believe in these delusional conspiracy theories about a stolen election, and in many cases have expressed their desire to continue fighting this battle.

Jail changes people. Prison really changes people. At least, that is the idea. Some people don’t want to change, some don’t really feel the need to change. They usually have a bit more trouble.

Christopher Worrell is a serious Proud Boys member who remains in pretrial detention for one reason. He is dangerous. He allegedly pepper-sprayed a law enforcement officer. Try that in your hometown and see if you are released. However, Worrell also has non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, in a phone call with Newsmax host Greg Kelly in a phone call from jail, Worrell said that he was told he would receive treatment and he has had none.

If his assertion is true (and there are reasons to doubt the truth), and a medical doctor pours over the records and finds that Worrell’s assertion is true, then the judge needs to haul the Sheriff (who oversees the jail) into court to explain why Worrell is not getting treatment. The judge may – rightly – find that if the Sheriff cannot guarantee treatment for cancer, then the judge is forced to allow limited visitations to his doctors and clinics for treatment, which will take a big bite out of the Sheriff’s budget and perhaps expose the Sheriff to a few more serious problems. Or the judge will be forced to release Worrell to home confinement and medical treatment, another problem.

But Worrell’s biggest problem is that he didn’t start his interview with Kelly by complaining about his medical condition, which is what 99% of us would do. No, the man accused of pepper-spraying a law enforcement officer insists he is innocent.

Robert Fairchild, 40, facing multiple federal charges

An Orlando man became the 25th person from Central Florida arrested in connection to the Capitol riot.

Robert Flynt Fairchild, 40, a U.S. military veteran, was arrested by FBI agents on Friday morning.

He’s charged with nine counts, which include entering a restricted building, violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, assaulting and resisting officers, civil disorder and obstructing an official proceeding....

Investigators said Fairchild’s brother-in-law, who is a deputy in Georgia, identified him from a “wanted” image on the FBI’s Capitol riot website.

Ali Alexander, the organizer of the rally that preceded the siege of the Capitol on January 6, said GOP Reps. Andy Biggs, Mo Brooks, and Paul Gosar helped him plan it, The Washington Post reported.

Biggs and Brooks denied helping Alexander, and a representative for Gosar declined to comment.

"We four schemed up of putting maximum pressure on Congress while they were voting," Alexander said, according to The Post.

A former Tennessee deputy sheriff who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 while wearing his sheriff’s vest is now behind bars, CNN reports.

Ronald McAbee, 27, was arrested on Tuesday after a person who recognized him from police body cam footage on the FBI’s “most wanted” website tipped off authorities. In the footage, McAbee reportedly can be seen grabbing a police officer and dragging him into the mb of rioting Trump supporters. As CNN points out, he was still employed as a deputy sheriff at the time of the Capitol riot. McAbee’s sheriff’s vest also sported a patch for the right-wing militia group Three Percenters.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office told CNN that McAbee, who worked there from November 2020 until March, was no longer employed, although they wouldn’t explain whether his departure was connected to his charges.

McAbee is charged with assaulting an officer and disorderly conduct on the Capitol grounds. He has not yet entered a plea.

Seven months after the attack on the U.S. Capitol, a high-profile suspect has finally been arrested by the FBI, HuffPost reports. Photos and footage from Jan. 6 allegedly showed a man in sunglasses and a Caterpillar hoodie dragging a Capitol police officer down the stairs. He became a “white whale” target for Sedition Hunters, a group of citizen sleuths who have combed through footage from the riot and tracked down the identifies of participants. Sleuths found footage of the man from earlier in the day on Jan. 6 without sunglasses, then used facial recognition to match it to photos of a man named Logan Barnhart on bodybuilding sites and cheap romance novels. They then found old images of Barnhart on his Instagram wearing the same Caterpillar hoodie and carrying the same American flag he had on Jan. 6.
