Perhaps they had enough complaints that they changed it.

My husband used to travel a lot on business. He always stayed at a Hilton property so we got "points" for our own family vacations.

I have a question about this as well. Why can't I exclude Fox from my cable system? I have asked multiple times and been told that it's all in a bundle. Can't pick and choose stations. From what I understand, Fox is very expensive. Maybe that's why they don't care if Tucker loses all of his advertisers. They still have the cable revenue.

Media companies negotiate carriage fees with the cable companies that carry them. FOX uses their extremely loyal viewer base as leverage to be very aggressive when negotiating its fees. From articles about it last year (like this one on Kos), they've negotiated a fee of a little under $2/month. In other words, every cable subscriber pays FOX about $20 a year whether they watch it or not.

The equivalent fees for MSNBC are 33 cents/month (~$4/year) and 70-90 cents/month for CNN ($8-10/year).

Advertising is gravy, FOX can get along without it.

sports channels because I never watch any of them. Same thing, part of the bundle.

When compared to other chains in this price point - and even those with lower rates - not very clean, less comfortable beds, strange odors in the room, wonky AC, terrible breakfast/coffee. And yes, the TV channel selection is awful. Unfortunate because there are a lot of them along my normal travel routes.

7. I used to stay in a Ramada when I flew out of Sea-Tac. Never again.

On my last vacation, I had originally booked one room for the night before I left Sea-Tac, and again for the night I got back. Then I decided to drive to Seattle to buy tile on the way home instead of flying in and out, and reserved another room at the same place.

When I got to the hotel, they told me, "because you reserved on two different dates, you have to check out tomorrow morning and check back in tomorrow night." Okay, no problem; I only had one suitcase and things to do that day anyway. I was thinking about buying the tile that day, but decided to wait until I got back. Anyway...

When I got back to the hotel... "we have no room for you because your credit card was declined when you made the reservation." Now understand, this is actually a debit card and the billing for the room went through four months ago when I made the reservation - and the exact same card worked fine for the night before's room. And I'm thinking, why didn't you just come out and say you didn't want to let me stay in your room for $59 when you could get $159 for the same room now?

So, I drive down the street to where the Sea-Tac light rail station is and checked into the Clarion hotel down there. MUCH nicer, and instead of having to wait for their shuttle bus to take me to the airport I could just walk to the light rail, ride the elevator up to the platform level and stroll across the bridge to the airport.

There are three Ramadas in the vicinity of Sea-Tac. The one you don't want to stay in is in Tukwila north of Southcenter Boulevard. The one that's by the MasterPark Garage is nice. The third one is on Interurban Avenue, which means it's kinda secluded. That one is really nice, but if you have a choice the hotels near the Link station are the best for you simply because of convenience.

Than it does with the chain itself.

I stay in hotels all the time and have come across certain properties where there is no MSNBC, but the same brand in the other side of the same town will have it.

Some franchise holders are assholes.
