Marine officer relieved of duty after calling out senior leaders about Afghanistan

"I am willing to throw it all away to say to my senior leaders, ‘I demand accountability,'" Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller said in a video message.

A Marine officer was relieved of duty on Friday after ripping into military leaders in a social media video following an ISIS attack outside a Kabul airport that left at least 13 U.S. troops and more than 100 Afghans dead.

Marine Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller posted on Facebook that he has “been relieved for cause based on lack of trust and confidence as of 14:30 today.”

As Trump invited the Taliban to Camp David, signed surrender with said Taliban and released 5,000 Taliban and other terrorist prisoners.

I'll keep looking though.

and intelligence agencies to make accurate assessments when it comes to foreign policy. We were lied to about Vietnam, about Iraq, and about Afghanistan. Thousands of US soldiers and hundreds of thousands of opposing forces have been killed based upon these exaggerations or outright lies. Whether it is foreign policy, sexual misconduct, or even local housing issues, protecting the "military brand" seems to be what is most important.

When it comes to national security, our biggest threat is lack of trust in senior military leadership by America’s sons and daughters entrusted to their care.

Peace

I learned something from a hardened vet back when I was a naive 17 and he was 27: the United States military is designed to be non-political, and it must remain apolitical. I did not understand that at the time because protest against the Vietnam War was in the air, and I knew there were plenty of servicemen who had realized it was a mistake. But to truly speak out, first they had to get out.

Despots go out of their way to politicize the military, to make them loyal to a person (i.e. the despot), to disregard their Constitution, and to distrust the civilian political system. Our military personnel take an oath to the Constitution, not their commanders and not the President.

As for who lies us in to wars: look to civilian leaders, like politicians. Look to the moneymakers, like Blackwater. Look to the media: over a century ago William Randolph Hearst was instrumental in getting us into the Spanish-American War, because ginning up war-fever sold newspapers.

As to who can clean this up — coming full circle, that’s us and the people we elect, so be active and keep an eye out.

How about a dishonorable discharge and forfeiture of your pension? That works just fine for me.

You are correct that officers can be sentenced to a dismissal and not a dishonorable discharge. You are also correct that the effect of a dismissal and a DD are essentially the same.

However, a dismissal can only be adjudged by a general court-martial.

This "effing" shit needs to stop...NOW!

This is what our country is becoming.

That evil Navy SEAL that Faux News and wingnut media turned into a fucking hero was a signal of more of this shit to come.

If you have never served in the military, you have no clue as to how damaging this is to good order and discipline, or how DANGEROUS this is to our Democracy

This guy needs to be busted to "E-Nothing", stripped of all awards and privilege, and given a Dishonorable Discharge, after serving significant time in Federal prison.

There are valid processes and avenues that are available for military members to question and request reviews of leadership decisions. Social Media isn't one of them.

Every last one of these mouth dragging, hate-radio listening, fascist dipshits needs to be excised from the military, like the cancer they are.

For the military leadership, there should NOT be one fucking DOD installation, break room, waiting room, gym or workspace that has a TV tuned to Faux News, or a radio tuned to Hannity, or whatever dipshit is currently hosting the zombie Rush show.

This fucking conservative propaganda shit and hate radio shit is hard enough to deal with in the civilian world, but it's downright dangerous in the military.

As tragic as it was, if one dogface soldier had complained about the "leadership" during the D-Day invasion, they would have been hung.

If we allow this shit to go unpunished in the military, our fucking democratic experiment is OVER!

This is that fucking serious, and dangerous.

The top brass is trying to tell these knuckleheads that whatever you post on social media will get back to your CO.
They can't control your dumb-ass hatred and racist thought -and that's something they admit, but they can control your actions, associations, and activities under the UCMJ.

And, BTW, threatening civilians is against the UCMJ.
