So, with thousands of folks evacuated and roads closed in CA - recall? really?

Like even mail is not being delivered to many places because infrastructure in and around burn areas roads are closed etc...

So seriously, how the fuck can we have a "fair" election if people cant get ballots? And what about those rural Ballot Drop Boxes? how many got burned up?

Who oversees this shit and what are they going to do? spend more $$?

just curious

Every county is offering in person voting where they can find out where at:

Vote.ca.gov

All locations offer same day voter registration, and allow you to register to vote at your new or temporary location or address, even if you have been displaced outside your home county, where you can use same day registration at your new or temporary address

They can also request a new ballot in El Dorado County to vbn@edcgov.us

There are other options available too.

While it isn’t easy for some, and extra effort will be needed for those affected, if they really want to vote, they can vote

and unlike Texas, a state legislature won’t overturn an election if they don’t like the results

2. Many of those affected by the fires are mixed between Democrats and republicans, so I suspect it

would be close to a wash anyway

Like most elections in California, it will be the large population areas that determine the outcome

However, there are mechanisms in place for everyone who wants to vote

Since the GQP pretty much cheated to get the recall going, I don't feel very sorry if an area that consists mostly of their constituency is not able to vote due to the results of decades of their perversely anti-science, selfish, and greedy policies.
I do feel pity at the loss of their homes and possessions, but I don't feel too sorry at the loss of their ignorant input to the governance of the state.

Their stubborn bigotry lead to the recall, and threatens to disenfranchise the majority of Californians who voted for Newsom.

On edit -as it is, the state will set up some sort of in-person voting for them. Now it's just a matter if they care toee get there and vote.
