Republican election audits have led to voting system breaches, experts say. Feature or bug?

Was one of the objectives of the GQP's various FRAUDIT exercises to expose proprietary election systems code to HACKERS?

It SHOULD be open source anyway and potentially by the time the FRAUDIT clownshow is done it will be. But one has to wonder, was this an objective or an unintended consequence?

MyPillow chief gave out election software at South Dakota event derived from Republican challenges in Colorado and Michigan

Republican efforts to question Donald Trump’s defeat in 2020 have led to voting system breaches experts say pose a risk to future elections.

. . .

Matt Masterson, a former top election security official in the Trump administration, said: “We told election officials, essentially, that you should assume this information is already out there. Now we know it is, and we don’t know what [hackers] are going to do with it.”

The software copies came from voting equipment in Mesa county, Colorado, and Antrim county, Michigan, where Trump allies challenged results last fall. Dominion software is used in some 30 states, including California, Georgia and Michigan.

. . .

The release gives hackers a “practice environment” to probe for vulnerabilities and a road map to avoid defenses, Hursti said. All hackers would need is physical access to the systems because they are not supposed to be connected to the internet.

“The door is now wide open,” Hursti said. “The only question is, how do you sneak in the door?”

Likely the 'hackers' will be GQP. This is no doubt what they were after. CousinIT Aug 2021 #6

The GQP wants to reduce confidence in voting enough they can basically convince Americans that voting is useless so they can stay in charge.

They care about winning, not doing a good job for their constituency.

Our DOJ is not taking these "audits" seriously enough, IMO.

WHEN our election machines around the country are hacked it will be GQP operatives doing it to help their own candidates 'win'. THEN their claims about fraudulent elections will be TRUE -- NOT in regards to 2020 - but every election subsequent to 2020.

They would probably know better than anybody if these fraudits could have allowed some GQP-paid hackers to dig down into the code and figure out how to rig it for the next election.

Also, can Dominion and other such companies be trusted not to sell out for the right price?
