comforting 13 grieving families in Delaware, beating covid,
handling over 100,000 evacuations and terrorists half a world away,
and now this hurricane.
So much threat and death.
But Joe be all like Yes We CAN.

(989 posts)Because the presidency is still a job, after all - the most difficult job in the world. Doing it well, like he has, doesn't leave much time for him to toot his own horn or engage in any dramatics.

(35,813 posts)World class leaders like him show that real work and power require humility and focus, not glory seeking.
Which is why his predecessor was so powerless. And why his base don't see the difference.

(17,972 posts)Who was complaining about Biden not giving enough Press time. The President does have a job to do. He just gave us a half hour.
President Biden is ending a war. Making sure all are out before the deadline. Doing drone strikes against ISIS- K. Honoring those who died and is now directing hurricane relief! Sheesh!

(10,378 posts)He's done a great job so far, particularly with the mess republiqons made of everything.
The Democratic party really needs to seriously think about how it could be that a piece of absolute shit could come so close to beating a good decent man like Biden. Everything, from voter suppression, to the media. Look what we almost didn't get. Then do something about all the dirty tricks and things that can be exploited.

(16,888 posts)1. How many people did he have to push out of the way to be in the front for the pic?

2. How did he dare go out without knowing about the weather?

We need to be on our toes to catch on to these 'staged' photo ops!

(63,771 posts)He is now blaming Biden for the catastrophe in Afghanistan. We "lost" Afghanistan on Biden's watch, when of course we knew the game was up.

(35,813 posts)instead of abandoning them like his guy did in Syria? Maybe remind him that if he can't see that, he must not really want decency in a leader?

(35,813 posts)While media catches him humble yet cheerful most of the time, they ain't interested in catching his gravitas.

(16,888 posts)I would think that, if they were honest, there'd be a whole lot of DU'ers here that did not 'expect' this performance from him at this stage in his presidency. I will admit that he was not my first choice - but it was truly based not on his 'abilities' but rather his ability to win the election. I guess we didn't know that 'the fix was in' with Dominion and all of the 'dead people' voting for him.
I am SO proud of PRESIDENT BIDEN as well as the strong support he's receiving from most Democrats (THANK YOU, MADAM SPEAKER!!!!). I wish the ENTIRE party would just shut up and get on board to support the party - right here - right now!

(13,650 posts)And I absolutely loved Obama. Obama, unfortunately, faced a lot of opposition from Congress due to the color of his skin.
MyOwnPeace
(16,888 posts)but the 'opposition' continues regardless of color.
I think we're seeing a difference in how to go against the opposition.
Many feel (I know, sounds like 'IQ45' saying 'many are saying' ) that PRESIDENT OBAMA was determined to 'work with the middle' - convinced that he could get 'Republiqans' to do 'the decent thing' and 'work with him.' Obviously, that didn't happen. Mitch McTurtle made that known from the very start.
Joe, so far, seems determined to 'stay the middle ground,' seeming to be willing to work with the 'opposition' - but is really working behind the scenes to get his agenda through, using his years of actual government experience to know how to pick his battles - letting 'behind-the-scenes' plans work their way through and actually get the job done.
Bottom line: We REALLY need to GET OUT THE VOTE for 2022 to give this marvelous man the support he needs to do what we all feel is what needs to be done to TRULY make America great again (I know - I'm feeling a little 'throw-up' in my throat too - I HATE how they really F'ed up that phrase!).
