"SNIP.....
Ohio Republican Senate candidate JD Vance touts his venture capitalism for Ohio and his charity battling opioid addiction, but neither appears to be doing what he claims.
Business Insider dug deep into Vance and reported:
Plenty of politicians seek to bolster their image by pointing to their business acumen and philanthropic efforts. In reality, though, its not clear what, if anything, Vance has achieved through his company or his charity. A review by Insider of Our Ohio Renewals tax filings showed that in its first year, the nonprofit spent more on management services provided by its executive director who also serves as Vances top political advisor than it did on programs to fight opioid abuse. The group, which has shut down its website and abandoned its Twitter account after publishing only two tweets, says it commissioned a survey to gauge the needs and welfare of Ohioans, but Vances campaign declined to provide any documentation of the project. A spokeswoman for Ohios largest anti-opioid coalition told Insider that she hadnt heard of Vances organization.
This is a charade, said Doug White, a nonprofit expert and former director of the masters program in fundraising management at Columbia University, who reviewed Our Ohio Renewals tax filings for Insider. Its a superficial way for him to say hes helping Ohio. None of that is actually happening, from what I can tell.

(1,668 posts)If it ain't broke don't fix it. He sounded like a con artist from the beginning. His mistake was trying to up his game, and we'll see if it's a mistake. My estimation says this set of cons could win the GOP nomination for him. He needs to head to a disaster and throw paper towels and it'll be all sown up.

(9,975 posts)Not only was it boring, but it was filled with insipid observations and ideas. I gave up after a couple of chapters of drivel.

(15,536 posts)The only reason I thought it would be remotely interesting is because I grew up in a small rural town in Ohio and wanted to see his take on what that's like. Partway through the book I was getting the feeling that he was embellishing his experiences just to sell a book. Then I watched the movie and that was awful. I wonder now how much of his story is actually true.

(12,436 posts)IMHO, politicus is progressive catnip and is known for over the top clickbait headlines.
Media Bias Fact Check says:
Overall, we rate PoliticusUSA borderline extreme Left Biased in wording and editorial positions that always favor the left. We also rate them Mixed for factual reporting due to a few failed fact checks, frequent misleading one-sided commentary, and occasional poor sourcing.

(43,327 posts)was instantly contradicted by the Constitution. I posted the relevant part that clearly showed his entire article was dross. He first replied with a ultra nasty reply, and got pushback from like 10 posters.
He then deleted my reply and simply made up a changed version of it that said things I never did and claimed I was A TRUMPER.
He banned me too.
He got crazy pushback from people with snapshots of what he had done,
He then took down the entire article.
He can go fuck himself.
