I wish there was a way to stop them once off the coast of Africa. It would cost a fortune, but we’ve spent trillions over the decades anyway. I wonder if anybody is working on this.

it was always going to be one of the major hurricanes of this season. Ida may be the biggest one this year.

8. Still at 130 MPH, one hour later. 5 PM CDT ..good gosh!!! Still a Cat 4!

Over land for how many hours now???

Its barometric pressure went up one point from 937 mb to 938 mb, but storm is stalled at 10 mph and just sitting there making meyhem

I heard that Baton Rouge had never experienced a Cat2 before and there may be significant damage.

Until it got to just south of Houma, it was over bayous and swamps - more warm water than land.
