Thank you all for your kind words yesterday. That really means a lot!
I survived! And all 10 cats are fine.
Lost power at 1:30 pm on Sunday. Entergy reporting serious issues that may take some time to repair.
No water! Since 9:00 pm Sunday. So no using the bathroom, no hand washing, no bathing. I hope I dont get typhoid!
Its already too hot and the sun hasnt even come up.
There appears to be only minor damage to the house and yard. Some streets in my neighborhood flooded, but no water got inside my house.
Ive got to sign off now to save my battery. Ill check in again when I can. I hope my DU friends along the Gulf Coast are okay!

(16,844 posts)I've heard that it's been pretty bad in New Orleans. It's slacked off here, and I don't think there's going to be much more. I hope it's ending for y'all, too. Take care.

(128,839 posts)Have been tracking Ida since it formed and it is now down to tropical storm strength with the eye in MS. The entire NOL metro is out (including the radar there).
Hopefully the National Guard can get in there with some water tankers (for washing/bathrooms as I assume there would be cases of bottled brought there).
Stay safe!

(5,555 posts)I'm seeing wildly different stories.
The most optimistic is that they can run a temporary transmission line and be up in a few days.
The most pessimistic is that the transmission line failure caused a cascade that fried a lot of equipment, and it could be a month.
Can't seem to find anything believably official either way.

And I immediately like you. When you mentioned your ten cats, it was obvious that you were an animal lover so you are my kind of person! Take care of yourself and your family oh, everyone's included.
