(33,567 posts)A minimum of a dozen States will pass the same law by next week.
Then watch the shit hit the fan when the 67% of Americans and damn near 100% of women find out what life in the Reich-wing dystopia is like.
Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard. - Mencken.

(9,998 posts)With a 6-3 conservative court, and at least 3 or 4 justices who have all but promised to overturn Roe v Wade at some point, it seems like this is where we're headed.
And it's not like we can vote anybody out, and change the dynamic. These are lifetime appointments, and the Assholes Drumpf put on the court, could be there for 30-40 years.

They never figured on the mega states needing more of a say then they have...
That stupid ass court is way over represented by non practicing Catholics

(25,462 posts)Really burn that status quo to the ground, make it harder to vote, take away as much reproductive health care for women as possible, make sure Democrats never have enough votes to pass any of the climate change plans they've had for decades, watch Trump voters clogg hospitals because of Covid conspiracy theories -- make life as miserable as possible because it will finally, finally bring on the Glorious Revolution of The People. Solidarity!
The Supreme Court wasn't important because Hillary Clinton was a warmonger for her Iraq vote (Susan campaigned for John Edwards who voted the same way BUT THAT'S DIFFERENT) and something about fracking. Hillary (the highly organized Methodist who spent her entire career helping women and children) would totally be more dangerous than Trump!
She's a political activist for the worst case scenario. Thanks, Susan. Good thinking about that "status quo, " whatever the hell you think that means.

(36,745 posts)In Michigan, we will definitely get a proposal on the ballot and it will pass by a very wide margin.
Our stupid Repuke legislature in MI wouldnt compromise on MJ legalization legislation, so we crammed the most liberal MJ legalization in the country down their throats via referendum.
