Politico: Gym Jordan, Matt Gaetz begged Trump to call off violent crowd during Jan. 6 insurrection

We still do not know many details about the conversations sexual assault enabler Rep. Gym Jordan had with Donald Trump during the violent Jan. 6 attempt to nullify the results of a presidential election the Republican Party had lost. That's mostly because Jordan has been slow-walking each little revelation only as he needs to, claiming he simply can't remember what may or may have taken place during a Republican attempt to topple government. But it's not particularly sustainable, because (1) nobody likes Gym Jordan and (2) nobody else is going to lie to Congress to protect Jim Freaking Jordan.

Well, with the possible exception of one person. But we'll get to that in a moment.

Politico is now reporting a new scoop that might refresh Jordan's memory.

"After a group of lawmakers were evacuated from the House chamber to a safe room on Jan. 6, Jordan was joined by Rep. MATT GAETZ (R-Fla.) for a call during which they implored Trump to tell his supporters to stand down," reports Politico. They cite a "source with knowledge of that call."

1. So let me get this straight

Jordan begged Trump to call it off but he doesn’t want anyone to know because:

1. It will make MGA people mad
2. It will make Trump mad
3. He might lose votes from mad MAGA people
when Trump tells them Jordan is a traitor to the cause
4. Jordan was actually in on it but got scared when
he saw it all go sideways.

I’m probably leaving a few things out that I can’t think of right now.

8. Reminds me of the report of Ivanka begging her father to call off the mob

but during 1/6, she tweeted directly to them, "American Patriots," directing them to stop their violence. She deleted that Tweet.

2. I don't buy it for a second. Jordan is squirming too much...

to avoid answering when asked about his calls with trump on Jan.6.

4. He is caught in the middle. If he says why he called trump, trump will go after him. On other hand,

he'll have to tell the Committee the truth. Then, rubes will hate him. This assumes there is any truth to the report on the call's purpose.

In any event, if true it will take a little -- certainly not all -- suspicion off Jordan.

Personally, I think he and Gaetz may well have called trump begging because those 2 tough guys were messing their pants.
