(WXYZ) The deadline to receive the COVID-19 vaccine for student-athletes at Western Michigan University is Tuesday. Now four WMU women's soccer players are fighting the mandate, hoping to be exempt.
"It would be very disheartening and sad to see my soccer career of 18 years end like this, said Senior Team Captain Morgan Otteson.
Otteson, along with teammates Emily Dahl, Hannah Redoute and Bailey Korhorn, have filed a lawsuit against Western Michigan. The four players appealed the school for a religious exemption based on their Christian beliefs but were denied.
I trust God and His creation of the human body and no matter what is surrounding it that He has dedicated his life and died for us on the cross to protect us at all costs, Otteson said. "I understand and know that my body is a temple and He will intend to keep me safe and clean from any unclean food and injections throughout my life here on earth."

(1,037 posts)one of them might have that circular scar from a small pox vaccination. I'm sure that God also gave her a few others before she started kindergarten.

(14,852 posts)... in my neighborhood. There's a very nice recreation center near me, with various kinds of outdoor facilities around it too, but that place has been monopolized by the kids on the soccer fields and their giant truck/SUV-driving adults who use nearly every parking spot in that huge park. And they behave like there's no pandemic at all, given how they closely interact with each other. At least they're outdoors, but I can almost guarantee that over half of them have never been vaccinated based on their behemoth vehicles that Republicans tend to prefer.
If this country doesn't have some world-beating soccer teams in about 20 years, I'll be surprised because it seems like there's usually enough people in that park during soccer season to fill up every home in this city. Surely most of them are from elsewhere, because it's been crazy-packed just to see some kids play soccer matches.

(1,202 posts)They pick and choose what to follow/believe in. Their get out of jail free card is that they're convinced they will be forgiven simply for believing that Jesus is their savior and way into heaven. It's truly illogical, yet that's how the whole scam is set up.

(1,159 posts)I just wish these MAGAvangelical superspreaders would only hang out with their fellow megaMAGAchurch, Trump-family-values cultists, then form prayer circles around the dying instead of clogging up hospital beds when they realize that aint Jeezus at the wheel, its Covid.

Does she take pain relievers? Vitamins?
Does she wear glasses?
Has she ever seen a doctor?
Did she have childhood vaccinations?
