that preceded the storming of the Capitol
Ali Alexander, the organizer of the rally that preceded the siege of the Capitol on January 6, said GOP Reps. Andy Biggs, Mo Brooks, and Paul Gosar helped him plan it, The Washington Post reported.
Biggs and Brooks denied helping Alexander, and a representative for Gosar declined to comment.
"We four schemed up of putting maximum pressure on Congress while they were voting," Alexander said, according to The Post.

(81,455 posts)On the morning of January 6, Gosar tagged Alexander in tweets calling for Biden to concede the election that he won by 7 million votes.
The Post reported that Gosar and Alexander also spoke at the event on December 19 and that Gosar had called Alexander a "true patriot." Biggs said in a video message at the event that he and Brooks would challenge the certification on January 6. Alexander had called Biggs a "friend" and a "hero," according to The Post.
A representative for Biggs told CNN that he appeared in the video after a request from Gosar's staff.

(86,572 posts)They are waiting for investigations to conclude these guys are guilty before due to the climate in Congress right now.
I'm impatient as hell but I can't rush the process either so I have to wait longer than I would like. But I suspect that in due time we may see considerable movement on this whole mess. Setting up the argument takes time.
An elegant desert takes time to construct.

(6,847 posts)Republicns don't censure Republicans, they defend them, even when indefensible.
I don't think "Innocent until proven guilty" has anything to do with it. Even if they were proven guilty in a court of law multiple times over, Republicans in general would go to their graves defending their actions.

(3,056 posts)It's just going to keep right on going. I had guessed it was Jordan, Boebert, and Greene, and I'm sure they'll find more. We should be looking at the phone records of every one of those traitors that voted against the certification.
This jumped out at me, though
These guys STILL haven't figured out when they try this dodge, they may as well say, "Yep...got me!"

Imagine the drama, explaining just one phone call during the Insurrection from McCarthy to Dumpler:
Well, Kevin, I guess these people are more upset about the election than you are, Trump said, according to lawmakers who were briefed on the call afterward by McCarthy.

I doubt it.
But if the guy's trying to get over, naming elected officials who are guilty as hell, yes, but. this will go nowhere without Congress' documentation, political referrals and FBI effort.

(7,894 posts)They collected the zombies and coordinated their arrival. They programmed the message. They were cheerleaders to the emotions of the attendees. They set the crowd's expectations and did everything but light the final fuse. They prepared and built the perfect lynch mob for Donald to ignite and then they pretended it was all about the spontaneous feelings of the voters.
I think they are at least guilty of manslaughter if not Murder 1.
