My 88# lab runs around with 25# dogs, the little one circling as they move down the no-leash area.
Little ones aren't afraid of the big ones, the big ones don't assert dominance based on size.
My dog isn't a follower, so he doesn't run up to other doggies, but if they run to him, he's perfectly content to play nice, no matter the size.
Little intimidation, no bullying. It's a fun thing to watch.

I wish he didn't but he does. He is great with dogs smaller than he and bigger ones close in size but if they are a lot bigger he gets scared.

I have never seen that happen.
But, dogs are aware of scale, so I suppose that's bound to happen with some beasties.

I once stayed with a family for a week over Christmas. I was the only brunette in the house, and the four year old daughter was highly suspicious of me. One day I put on a blonde wig and she immediately took to me.

So they do see and notice differences.

Also, humans have a far more highly developed color vision than most animals do.

It isn't about hair color, but about size etc....
Look at chimps....
Have you seen dogs fight?
Have you seen what happens in wolf packs?

of another animal of their species who's trying to invade their territory or take their food or mates. Tigers, for example, all look pretty much alike, but they are very territorial and will fight and chase away others of their species who are competing for food, territory or mates.

There is definitely great cruelty within nature, but many glorious moments as well.

You've got to be taught
To hate and fear
You've got to be taught
From year to Year
It's got to be drummed
in your dear little ear
You've got to be carefully taught

You've got to be taught
To be Afraid
Of people whose eyes
are oddly made
And people whose skin
Is a different shade
You've got to be carefully taught

You've got to be taught
Before it's too late
Before you are 6 or 7 or 8
To hate all the people
your relatives hate
You've got to be carefully taught

That has been the primary goal of Republicans since 1968, and all radio since the 1980s and all Fox/CNN/ABC/CBS/ABC and even lil ole PBS.

A large dog and a small dog appear to get along okay and their sizes don't make a difference.

I've never seen that, but it's believable. Dogs do grasp scale.

At off-leash parks and doggy daycare, he's a bit of a jerk with dogs smaller than him (there usually aren't a whole lot of them because he's 21 pounds). But when bigger dogs come around, he freezes up, sometimes trembles in fear.

My wife and I have a 110-pound German shepherd/English mastiff. He's cool as a cucumber around other dogs. The only issue I've ever seen is posturing with other large dogs while both are on leash that has led to growling/vicious barking. But that often makes me think of these gifs:

I've also never idealized other animals, though, for lacking our capacities, for both good and bad, and imagined human animals as morally inferior to the rest. Very disruptive yes!

I imagine those who study animals might have something to say about reactions and lack of them to coat color.
