From former OSHA Deputy Asst Secretary : USPS is not exempt

?s=20

Jordan Barab (You're on mute!)
@jbarab
OSHA Deputy Asst Secretary 2009-2017. Former Congressional, AFSCME and Chemical Safety Board staff.

USPS is not exempt. USPS workers are considered to be private sector employees for legal purposes. This means they will be covered under the #OSHA vaccine/testing mandate, rather than the federal employee mandate.

What if Dejoy does not enforce it? Irish_Dem Sep 2021 #1
He'll be fined $14,000 for each vaccine/ testing violation. JoanofArgh Sep 2021 #2
I wonder if the fines come out of his salary or from the Post Office budget. Irish_Dem Sep 2021 #4

Joes make a federal order, Dejoy defies it, Biden can then fire him for blatant cause.

Our President means business - it’s one of the things I like most about him. I just hope Manchin and Sinema is paying attention too.

Or he will be able to get two GOP senators to vote on the bills and teach them some lessons.

ETA Yes I like that Joe kicks ass and takes names. He is fearless.

Jacob Bogage is having second thoughts

In his article about the vaccine or test mandate, he wrote what an anonymous White House official had told him, that USPS employees would not be subject to the requirement.

He's been getting a lot of blowback on this, and he's looking into it.

Quickie write up of the USPS exemption. I've asked WH sources for more info on why USPS was cut out of the executive order. Will update if/when I get more.
