Former President Donald Trump and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson once spent a "considerable" part of a meeting discussing how strong kangaroos were, the former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham wrote in her upcoming tell-all, according to an excerpt in The Guardian. Grisham, whose book about her year working in the White House from 2017 to 2018 is set to be published next week, said the pair's relationship was warm and "redefined the word random" as they riffed on a wide variety of topics during their meetings, including kangaroos and gallbladders.

"Johnson once told us over breakfast that Australia was 'the most deadly country – spiders, snakes, crocodiles and kangaroos'. Then they discussed how powerful kangaroos were at considerable length," Grisham wrote, per The Guardian. The report indicated that the conversation took place during a "working breakfast" at a Group of Seven summit of leading industrial nations in Biarritz, France, in August 2019.

Johnson and Trump also veered onto the topic of gallbladders during the breakfast, according to Grisham.
"'Can you put a new gallbladder in?' Johnson asked, chomping away on scrambled eggs and sausage.
'I don't know what a gallbladder does,'".

Trump replied that "it has something to do with alcohol,*" Grisham wrote.

President Donald Trump was fascinated by badgers and derailed several key briefings and policy discussion sessions with questions about the small omnivores, according to a new book detailing behind-the-scenes White House conversations.

"Sinking in the Swap," a book by Daily Beast reporters Lachlan Markay and Asawin Suebsaeng, was published earlier this week. Among its revelations is Trump's interest in badgers, which hampered the efforts of then-Chief of Staff Reince Priebus to thrash out White House policy in the early days of Trump's administration.

Priebus—who grew up in Wisconsin, nicknamed the "Badger State"—would field the president's questions while trying to discuss "matters of healthcare initiatives, foreign policy, or Republican legislative agenda," Markay and Suebsaeng wrote according to excerpts published by the Guardian.

Trump reportedly asked, "Are they mean to people...Or are they friendly creatures?" The president wanted to know how the nocturnal animals "work" and whether they had a "personality" or were boring. While Priebus did his best to answer, the president would also ask to see pictures of the small mammals.
