JD Vance Goes Full Brownshirt And Says Government Should Punish Woke Companies

"SNIP......
Ohio US Senate candidate JD Vance suggested that the government should punish companies and endowments that are on the wrong side of the culture war.
.......
Vance said, Unless you are willing to make these people feel economic pain, theres no serious way to fight back against it. Google, Apple, Delta, theyre not going to stop beating up on Georgia for passing common-sense voter integrity measures just because we complain about it. Harvard University Endowment has a zero percent tax rate. Maybe its time to tax the endowment? Seize the endowment, actually penalize these endowments for being on the wrong side of some of these culture war issues.
JD Vance Is Suggesting Authoritarianism
Vance wants to punish companies and seize the endowments of universities that hold a different point of view than he does on culture war issues.

(13,168 posts)I notice the term "woke" is now seldom used in a positive sense. It's become a synonym for moralistic. It needs to be dropped, along with the idea it conveys, that some are asleep. Not only should it be dropped, but it should be disavowed. Otherwise, it will be used as a label against Dem causes. The Trumpie nutball-led party will use it to force an identity on us we don't want or deserve, effectively as moralistic prigs.

(118,501 posts)disappear and being poor, hell. The narcissist niallists assume educated with money will want to follow them there. The educated are not interested in living in that always corrupt Hellscape. Bet they don't enjoy corrupt denial of service attacks on their computer networks either. That is just a taste of what life for them will be like in an autocracy. Not good for anyone.

My difference is in that I want the American people to cause the economic pain, NOT the power of the state.
After citizens united, the only option to get dark money and corporate money to STOP funding Nazis, is to boycott the ever loving piss out of them.
We could start with all the wealthy and corporations that advertise on Hate Radio stations. We could at least start letter writing and phone call campaigns to all those pro and college football programs that have their games broadcast on stations that give us nothing but Zombie Rush and Hannity.
The corporate "pledge" to stop donating to politicians that support white supremacist, and racist voter disenfranchisement legislation, lasted about 2 seconds.
The rich bastards that gave us Donnie Dipshit and other authoritarian Retrumplicans won't stop unless they feel economic pain

Instead of a truth-teller in his own community, Vance as a candidate has become a contemptible and cringe-inducing clown.
