It is essential to womans equality with man that she be the decisionmaker, that her choice be controlling. If you impose restraints that impede her choice, you are disadvantaging her because of her sex. The Notorious RBG at her confirmation hearing.
How dare we want equality... 👀

Christians that believe they are called by God to exercise dominion over every aspect of society by taking control of political and cultural institutions. Think William Barr

(9,090 posts)it's sex on the wrong brain - which can cause fear of uncertainty, the major indicator for authoritarianism. the taliban, proud boys, isis, trumpers are basically masturbation cults.
authoritarianism is sometimes measured with the Uncertainty Avoidance Index. for anatomical and other reasons sowb is worse in males and females can represent uncertainty - which authoritarians try to control to reduce stress ands fear
the koran rules that "man can only have sex with his wife and that which the right hand possesses" - knowing all the boys and young men who can't 'win' or own slaves or captives (that which the right hand possesses) aren't going to be celibate and are going to cheat will make sure and only use the right hand. but when it comes down to it, what else would a man have sex with? anyone or anything? watermelons? why did they put that in there for if it could mean anything or anybody? what does it mean now to the majority of muslims - who aren't fundamentalist nutballs?
it sounds like the taliban, isis, boko haram etc take that literally
but the koran really didn't have to put anything in there about it and if humans ever get serious about researching sex on the wrong brain as a major cause of authoritarianism that bit in the koran is revealing. the christian organized religions grew their authoritarian armies and social structures similarly with sexual repression, guilt, etc.
