"If youre going to take over the administrative state and deconstruct it, then you have to have shock troops prepared to take it over immediately," Bannon said in a telephone interview with NBC News. "I gave 'em fire and brimstone."
Bannon, who ran former President Donald Trump's first campaign and later worked as a top adviser in the White House, said that Trump's agenda was delayed by the challenges of quickly filling roughly 4,000 slots for presidential appointees at federal agencies and the steep learning curve for political officials who were new to Washington.
He is not alone in that view. His appearance at the Capitol Hill Club came at the invitation of a new organization called the Association of Republican Presidential Appointees, which was formed to create a resource for future GOP officials tapped to fill federal jobs.

How is this terrorist scumbag not in prison yet? He is openly committing treason right in front of us! Now would be a good time to find out what his involvement in January 6th was.

(57,067 posts)... "deconstructed state" has more resources than he has even if he owns the rights to the Seinfeld reruns. It's just a longer zero sum effort. He's trying to buy time so a GOP President might pull his lumpy ass out of the goulash. Or Justice decides to apply the resources elsewhere and gives him a deal.
It'll be more convenient for him to "rally" the shock troops when they're all in the hoosegow with him.

(46,699 posts)I saw something like what Bannon is talking about in the nineties. It involved a land scandal in my City and the City's board was overrun by these shock troops. The City was vulnerable because it was not working on a good, legal foundation, so what we saw was a shocking exhibit of Florida's worst social dynamics fighting against each other.
What Bannon is talking about has already happened on a small scale in Florida. Shock troops who are cultivated for their support. They will move inside a community to spread misinformation and to cut deals to win over the next level of leadership in a community. In the end, we had a Bizarro World, where the leadership we now have is hiding the truth from the newcomers, and even if the newcomers knew what was happening, they would be shit out of luck to use the legal system because so many lawyers are compromised in this mess.
Jump twenty five years later and now we have Bannon saying it aloud:
"What were hoping to do is build a base of people that can be available as a support system for political appointees who are coming in for the first time," he said. "Its easy, if you know the rules, to accomplish your objective.""
There are so many out of work, that this will come across as easy money. What it means is that the hostilities will rise. I suggest now that Democrats start to be selective with the friends they keep.

(18,486 posts)Treason has a very specific legal definition and regardless what we think of him, his actions do not constitute treason.
