With the $3.5 trillion bill why not sunset certain items after say 4 years. It would cut the

cost down to where Manchin and Sinama could live with it and give Democrats something to run on in 2024. You
give Medicare recipients dental, eye and hearing aids it would be hard to take it off them just like ACA has become.
You give people child care and the tax credit for children after 4 years they won't want to lose it. If it lowers drug prices
for seniors who would vote to raise them again.
Isn't that about what the Republicans did with the Bush tax cuts. Obama could have not continued some of it but he would
have been blamed for raising taxes by Republicans.

It lowers the top line number, but Biden gets an immediate political boost, and then can run for re-election by framing it as a choice between extending those benefits or ending them.

I've often wondered why they always do these "ten year" things. Is that in their rules or something? The only thing that people hear is "3.5 Trillion Dollars." They never hear the "ten year" part.

Cut it in half to 5 years, then let them crow about the 1.75 Trillion Dollars.
