(65,008 posts)Jamele's "sin" was she did politics while on air at ESPN.
Steele has done her babbling & ranting on other venues, so hasn't violated company policy.
Obviously, as a disseminator of disinformation & sanctimonious nonsense, her statements are orders of magnitude beyond anything Hill did.
But, there may be contractual issues that keep her safe as long as she keeps her idiotic statements off ESPN.
BTW: The fantastic Rachel Nichols was canned in a matter of hours after a PRIVATE conversation was leaked where she was critical of the company & a colleague. A PRIVATE CONVERSATION.
It would be fine by me for Steele to get launched. I don't think she brings that much to Sportscenter.

(53,771 posts)probably has something to do why ESPN hasn't disciplined her as opposed to Hill's which were left of center and decidedly anti-racist.
I didn't no Rachel Nichols was canned. I knew about the dust-up over Maria Taylor getting an assignment she wanted.

(53,771 posts)she was going to lose her job because of ESPN's mandate. But she thinks it's sick and scary.
What's scary is people like her running around unvaccinated and extending this pandemic that could've been put behind us months ago.
