Criminal inquiry into Trump's Georgia election interference gathers steam

Donald Trump is facing increasing legal scrutiny in the crucial battleground state of Georgia over his attempt to sway the 2020 election there, and that heat is now overlapping with investigations in Congress looking at the former president’s efforts to subvert American democracy.

A criminal investigation into Trump’s 2 January call prodding Georgia’s secretary of state, Brad Raffensperger, to “just find” him 11,780 votes to block Joe Biden’s win in the state is making headway. The Georgia district attorney running the inquiry is now also sharing information with the House committee investigating the 6 January attack on the Capitol in Washington DC.

Meanwhile, a justice department taskforce investigating threats to election officials nationwide has launched inquiries in Georgia, where election officers and workers received death threats or warnings of violence, including some after Trump singled out one official publicly for not backing his baseless fraud claims.

Despite these investigations, Trump is still pushing bogus fraud claims in Georgia. Trump wrote to Raffensperger in September asking him to decertify the election results, which is impossible, and with an eye on the 2022 elections is trying to oust Raffensperger, as well as the state’s governor, Brian Kemp, and other top Republicans who defied his demands to block Biden’s win.

F’ing audio tape recording of him pressuring Raffensbeger for crying out loud.

We got to stop treading lightly for fear of prolonging the divide or permanently dividing the nation — the right is going to intensify and prolong the divide regardless anyway. The only control or influence we have over them is to squash enough of them so that the rest slither back under the rocks and litter from whence the came. Doing anything less only buoys and emboldens them.

Was the U.S. attorney for the norther district of Georgia. He abruptly resigned the day after a trump initiated phone call.
I want to hear his testimony re what trump asked him to do.

Because the evidence is already right there in the docket. So it becomes a game of lawyers. If the defence can find a loophole, or precedence, or even argue that there is no precedence so it falls into a "can't prosecute a sitting President" or argue that for "national security" reasons it should be thrown out because it would, as you say be "dividing the nation".

And why isn't Lindsey also looked into? There was a clearly heard phone call from him too about "finding votes".

that Lindsey is NOT being looked into?

J/K, I'm sure you don't. Neither do I. But that doesn't necessarily mean he isn't, and I don't think we should assume that our personal lack of knowledge means anything either way, about Lindsey or anyone else being under investigation.

MAGATS live on EARTH2.

They have heard the tape with the Georgia officials. DON'T CARE!

Saw the Entertainment Tonight Pussy Grabber tape. DON'T CARE!

Saw him urging people to put bleach and flashlights up their ass. DON'T CARE!

Watched as he pardoned his convicted co-conspirators. DON'T CARE!

Witnessed him praising Putin and trashing his own intelligence agencies. DON'T CARE!

Watched his as politically motivated denial of Covid plaque kills hundreds of thousands. DON'T CARE!

He praised Nazis in Charlottesville. DON'T CARE!

Any negative facts that emerge are conspiratorial lies fomented by George Soros and the Librul coastal elites. It is all racial grievance.

I doubt twelve jurors can be found from EARTH1 that would convict. If he were jailed, his martyrdom would be the guiding theme of American history until he takes his last breath.

Vladamir Putin would continue to celebrate the most successful intelligence operation in history!

Kemp may have a tougher fight this time (I’m assuming that Stacey Abrams will run again) because he isn’t the Secretary of State and able to throw out voter registrations or delay processing them until after the election as he did last time. Who knows what the current Secretary of State will do, though he did stand up to Trump.

If they tie Trump trying to strong arm the Georgia Sec. of State into illegally changing the vote to Trump’s bloody attempt @ a coup …. they have him on tape telling the attorney for Georgia’s Sec. of State’s office because that he needs her to “find some votes” or
just say, “there are questions about the election” because in his own words, “Something big is gonna happen on January 6th.” Then that is conspiracy

File this one under the "Rich and Famous" defense which affords its claimant carte blanche immunity.

A/k/a the "I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters, OK?" defense.

This is the first and most egregious step towards full-blown neofascism. If we let him get away with it, you might as well administer last rites to the USA.
