And the committee won't do anything.

(268,642 posts)I loved when he mentioned Grand Juries - that is all.
There will be consequences and I'm ignoring all those who keep saying nothing will happen.

(47,238 posts)to a "doom and gloom" mentality. That the republicans and Trump will always outmaneuver Democrats. I understand where that comes from, but it certainly is self-defeating. Meanwhile, the mainstream media will pick up on it, amplifying and reinforcing it.

This all happened yesterday. It's a little early to write off the committee, I think.

(46,023 posts)That he's made calls and learned nothing will be done. I'm not taking that as gospel, but he hasn't been wrong since he stopped supporting Republicans. I hope the chairman of the committee will come out and tell us what will be done about this. The refusals are certainly no surprise.
You're probably wondering if wryter2000 has gone 'round the bend. Not yet.

(46,023 posts)I can't imagine it wouldn't be, but if someone on the committee disagrees, so what? I just hope there's an announcement soon. We don't need anymore "Dems do nothing!" around here.
Do they need a public hearing to act on this?

If this were an ordinary citizen. He/she would already be in jail. Why is Bannon any different?
I want action but past history indicates that nothing will be done. Ill be quite happy to be surprised and will happily admit my mistake when I see Bannon in handcuffs.
MineralMan
(146,248 posts)I'm not making predictions, because I don't have enough information. I highly recommend that course of action for those who feel the need to tell us what will happen before they have any information.
Yes I do.

Please let me know when something of substance happens to these traitors. Ill wait

(9,998 posts)Perhaps it's those that are predicting a different ending should be the ones questioned about why they feel that way.
Or we could just keep moving the goalposts and making excuses for why nothing is happening.

(15,220 posts)I get tired of the cheerleaders. I live in reality, and the reality is that nothing has happened nor will likely happen now to Bannon or any of them.
If that makes me gloom and doom, then so be it. It's how it is right now.

(146,248 posts)The Congress inherent contempt authority, while old and not used in a long time, is the only effective Avenue at this point. The Sergeant at Arms can lock up Bannon and the others, and the seditionists can then appeal their detention in Federal Court. Enough is enough.
