(58,785 posts)affordable child care, and an extension of the child tax credit that's already lifted millions of children, temporarily, out of poverty. Before this round of negotiations, roughly $450 billion was planned to go toward early education and child care.
As for your question, no. Most childcare is given by parents or arranged by parents with family and neighbors and local preschools, which is the way they want it even if expensive for them. They help themselves, but many will really benefit from the programs we plan.
The real problem is with the minority who simply, really can't afford it and aren't able to stay home either. Those people need our help, as above.

(7,510 posts)Parents should be able to drop their kids off before they go to work and then pick them up when they get home.
Before-school, school, and after school care should be seamless for both parents and children. And it needs to be that way 7 days a week, 12 months of the year because parents work during the summer and some parents work weekends.
