California oil spill & a century of coastal history in Huntington Beach...

Page 1, today’s LA Times their title is “Surf City, Built on Oil”
The photo from 1940 is amazing, but I can’t get it to copy — the beach was lined with derricks, shoulder to shoulder. In 1970 there were 1,000 in Huntington Beach — today there are only 151 left.
