But Amodios run was still one for the history books. The student became the third contestant in the game shows history to break $1 million in non-tournament play, and reached second place on the all-time consecutive win list, behind only legendary contestant Ken Jennings, who swung a mind-boggling 74 straight wins in 2004. Amodio wont be gone for long, howeverhell be back for the next Tournament of Champions in 2022. I loved every second of playing Jeopardy!, he told The Boston Globe, and wanted it to go on forever.

(111,082 posts)..with very obscure topics, he missed a few questions and was unable to pick any of the Daily Doubles, and was playing against two very good opponents.
It was a bit of a downer to see him defeated. He was one of the best.
I always believed I would do well on that show, because I have a lot of stuff rattling around up there.
But, it would be my luck to have categories like Art History, or 21st Century Literature.
I'd be a fish out of water.

(50,269 posts)everyone has a bad day and even losing he'll still have a nice nest egg. We should give credit to the other 2 contestants, too. They knew their stuff and knew how to play the game.

(63,909 posts)have been cancelled tho). Game shows are obviously in his life plans.
Amodio is different, I think. He's won over a million dollars and he has plans. Now he can finish up at Yale and go forward with his life with financial security. We all love Jeopardy but I am not weeping because he's moving on. It was a great "high" for him but there is life after Jeopardy.
