Clapton is even worse than we thought- he's funding antivaxxers

Over the course of his decades-long career, Eric Clapton has been no stranger to controversy. His latest batch of it has come in the wake of COVID-19, as he has taken an anti-vaccination stance. Now, Clapton is the subject of an extensive new Rolling Stone feature, and in it, the publication reports that Clapton has donated over a thousand dollars to anti-vax UK band Jam For Freedom, along with helping them in other ways.

Jam For Freedom founder Cambel McLaughlin, who describes himself as “pro-medical choice,” told Rolling Stone that he set up a GoFundMe campaign after a vehicle the band used was badly damaged. He was skeptical when he saw a £1,000 (about $1,364) donation from Clapton, so he emailed the account associated with the donation. Sure enough, he received a text from Clapton

Couldn't escape that on the muzak. Or that horrible acoustic version of Layla.

It's been quite a while since he really did anything noteworthy. I might have gone to see him somewhere if I had gotten free tickets and it was close by, but not now. Hell no.

I enjoyed the show, but in general I haven't liked his output since about 71-72. Thought about seeing him w/ Steve Winwood a few years ago, because I figured it would be essentially Blind Faith. Now? Nope.
Same thing w/ Van Morrison. Saw him 15 years ago and loved it, never again.

His comments about Hendrix are ugly, and his comments about Enoch Powell in the 70s are even worse.

He's claiming that the neurological disorder he's talked about for 10 years was caused by the COVID vaxx, he's palling around with Greg Abbott, and he's funding those other fuckwits.
He's relishing being this anti-vaxx hero.

I wasn't much of a fan of his solo material (but I loved everything from the Yardbirds through Derek & the Dominos), but this article just shows that he's been a horrible person even back to the 60s. Although his racist ass is singlehandedly responsible for the "Rock Against Racism" movement in the late 70s.
