A Republican DOJ went after the whole Nixon Administration

Last edited Wed Oct 13, 2021, 02:37 PM - Edit history (1)

and sent most of then to jail.

And we can't get a Democratic DOJ to even look at TFG and his band of crooks.

There is something happening and I don't like what it is...

Let me just add,
I know it took several years to prosecute the Watergate gang. But we knew they were being prosecuted. NY State and City are taking their time, but we heard about the investigations, subpoenas and Grand Juries the whole way. In this time of a multitude of media sources, we have not heard of any Trump official being subpoena, lawyering up, or investigated.
I remember the disappointment in Fitzpatrick and Mueller, I remember when the Obama Administration decided to "look forward and not back" letting the Bush Administration criminals, war and otherwise, get off.
The silence from the Biden Administration and the DIJ does not engender any hope of these criminals seeing the inside of a court room.
So it would be nice to hear about some movement on the prosecution of the most corrupt Administration, run by the most corrupt family in American History.

He doesn't want to politicize the DOJ...which could be the reason that so many of the insurrectionists are getting low fines, short jail terms and plea deals...theoretically!

Criminal investigations normally are not conducted publicly. And don't forget, it took two years following the Watergate break-in to indict Haldeman, Ehrlichman, Mitchell, et al., as well as to get the "smoking gun" tape released, which finally led to Nixon's resignation.

for me. I could swear this has all happened before during President Obama's two terms. People complaining over and over about how "wrong" he was when they didn't agree with him. Posters spewing doom and gloom and saying "it's all over", no hope, why even bother any more, and of course people with their hair on fire spewing this crap day, after day, after day! I will admit there seems to be a lot more "misinformation" being spread this time around.

Maybe it's just a bad dream.

But I am willing to give the DOJ the time they need to get it right so the guilty won't get off because of a lack of evidence.

So, sure, if that's where you want to end up, then, yep, we're on the same ride. People complaining about legal inaction during a Democratic administration, which is then followed by an emboldened fascist wrecking crew.

What I do know is that federal investigations of white-collar crime cases take a long time. It took more than two years just to indict the primary culprits in the Watergate case, and almost three years before they were actually convicted. Complaining that nobody has been indicted after only a few months indicates a lack of understanding of a very complex process.

We’ve seen this movie and its 60 remakes. And it’s always We the People who get left on the short end of the stick and in the middle of the stink. The Trumpies are just tools of Crime Inc., the fusion of capital and fascism that has corrupted the planet so horribly and thoroughly. Some of the turds escaped justice after 1945 and have created the current cesspool we find ourselves in.

But, Who Where & When the Gang will be Gotten?

....Will it be NY State?, IRS?, or ????

So, Guess Who will decide?.....His name is >> Joe.....??

You don't believe?....Joe will consult with the best brains in the U.S.A. and....then decide the course of action..

The burglars were busted and charged quickly (the break-in was in June of 1972; they were indicted in
September and tried or pled guilty in January of 1973), but the prosecutions of the big fish - Haldeman, Ehrlichman, etc., occurred in 1974-75. Most of that bunch, who were indicted in March of 1974, went on trial in October of that year, and all but Parkinson were found guilty in January of 1975. Haldeman, Ehrlichman, and Mitchell exhausted their appeals in 1977. So the whole process took about five years.

...Nixon wasn't just hated by Democrats. A lot of Republicans hated him too!

And the DOJ is swamped with insurrectionist cases. Add to that, they learned from the Nixon Administration on how to push your agenda up to the line of breaking the law, but not crossing it. There are no slam duck cases.

there are still Trumpist moles in the DoJ. Trump and Barr completely gutted the DoJ as happened to most other federal agencies, and Trump installed his stooges, some of whom might still be there. As civil service employees they could be hard to get rid of, and they might still be throwing spanners in the works.
