So this Christine Todd Whitman/Miles Taylor thing is just a 3rd party movement.

News reports of the last couple of days have been stating the main goal of these "former Republicans" was to attempt to get everyone to vote for Democrats across the country, given that their old party is trying to destroy democracy in so many different ways.

Today on "Morning Joe", C.T.W. just went full "both-siderism", claiming that "I've heard from just as many Democrats concerned that their party has become too extreme". Of course, not one person on the panel had the brains or the stones to question her about just one example of "too extreme" on the part of Democrats.

She claims that she will be releasing a list of sorts, with politicians from both parties that meet her standard of "sufficiently center-right or center-left". Revealing herself as just another grifter.

in the Democratic party, but the republican party has become predominantly kooks and unsavory sycophants. How could anyone ever trust them again? These so-called "sane and reasonable" republicans belonged to the party all the years that they shamelessly catered to the "deplorables", making promises they never intended to keep, all to get more votes and hold on to power.

The many compromises they made for votes were instrumental in bringing us to where we are today. Their shameless political games and dishonesty created a monster they cannot control, so they don't get any second chances.

this past weekend, where every Iowa Republican was up on that dais with Needy Amin, slobbering all over him, I wouldn't count on a ton of rank-and-file members rushing off to join a 3rd party movement.

as much as they distrust Democrats. It could take a generation or two before they can put together a reasonable conservative party that voters would trust. Too much damage has been done.

I think until someone defines a third party by specific policy positions, rather than the more generic "center right or center left", they don't seem serious to me. So, your grifting possibility is very real in my mind. I do think there is some space and some people that remain quite interested in "other" or "none of the above". In many ways I think those folks are the ones that pushed Trump over the top and then did Biden the same favor after realizing Trump was not just "other" but crazy dangerous.

I worry something centrist will pull more Dems than Reps. If there must be a third party, I would hope for someone even more right than Trump and just kill everything far right of center. Probably too much to hope for.

most will not vote for a republican. As to "moderate" Democrats', majority will not vote for a republican. Therefore, the "never" trumpers need to focus on their own party's voting.

She is the Bush tool who declared the WTC rubble was tested and safe and workers didn't need safety gear, even though that is a ridiculous claim. Those workers that are still alive are still suffering from working on that job.

That is unforgiveable in my mind.
