(7,944 posts)Some better. Some a lot worse. I only saw life through a 7 year old perspective. I just remember that I liked JFK. Yes, it does seem like 100 years ago.

(27,541 posts)That JFK had been killed. I am not Sheldon Cooper, so I was older than 7.

(10,252 posts)I remember the Kennedy years as people getting into jogging and going for walks and becoming exercise nuts. During the Cuban missile crisis, we stood in line outside the lunchroom, wondering if nukes would soon vaporize us. I skipped school, when Kennedy came to DaLLas to see his motorcade, but buses were pulled to the side of the road right in front of me. So I didn't get to see him, when he drove by.
My Father was a Dallas cop. His office was downtown in Dallas city hall. After they caught Lee Harvey Oswald, there was a press conference in city hall. My father, who was a Lt. was present, and he asked his Capt what was Jack Ruby doing at the press conference, because Ruby wasn't a reporter. His Capt said, "That's just Jack Ruby, probably here to bail out one of his girls." Ruby had a strip club downtown, and apparently was frequently bailing out his girls for 1 thing or another. Of course, Ruby was in city hall that day to shoot Oswald.
