"SNIP.......
What is up with Republicans refusing to pay back their debts? We know Trump owes everybody moneypossibly more than $1 billionaccording to Forbes, but before Trump, theres an old-school cheater, one whose debts go back a decade.
One-time GOP Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich currently owes more than $4.6 million in unpaid bills thanks to those small firms that helped him run and supported his failed 2012 presidential campaign. That number has stayed exactly the same for the last nine years.
Monday, Gingrichs Newt 2012 committee filed its latest quarterly report with the Federal Election Commission. The 46-page document outlines how much Gingrich owes ($4,631,534.55, to be exact), and if I were him, I wouldnt be bragging all over Twitter about fancy dinners and days out on the golf course with my wife. Id be out there trying to find a j-o-b. But, hey, Im a Black AmericanId be under the jail, as my dad used to say, if I didnt pay my debts.
In 2012, HuffPost asked one of Gingrichs vendors about the money he owed them.
We got burned, the Las Vegas graphics company owner said then.

(12,463 posts)Never take responsibility for anything. They have to be forced to.
The consequences of not paying his bills has to become more painful than paying them off.
Only than will that pig pay the people he stiffed.

What a bunch of dumbass, re-tards, they really are!

I liked that place when I lived in NoVA, sorry to see his evil presence there. He also soils a decent Indian place in McLean.

These were never loans. They were bribes.
Only the most naive of these "lenders," if any, were actual marks of these grifters.

See also Trayvon Martin (his crime apparently was wearing a hoodie), George Floyd, etc etc versus January 6th seditionists.
No issue with Trump supporters giving people covid but the minute they could blame brown people it was an issue.
I remember either during his campaign or early in his presidency (if that's what you can call it) and Trump tweeting about the girl in San Francisco getting allegedly shot and killed by an undocumented immigrant. If I remember right he was found not guilty. Compare that to that little asshat who murdered people in Kenosha.
The list goes on and on.

(6,911 posts)It isnt a debt expected to be paid back. A big donor does $100,000 of work for the campaignfar above legal limitsthen never gets paid.
The campaign really gets a $100,000 donation, far above donor limits.

Owe millions, and they'll write about you as a "wily financier, who left confusion in his wake."
How old is Gingrich now? 78? And he looks none too healthy. What are they going to do to him, cancel his subscription to People magazine?
It's the old rule: Steal $100 and you're a criminal. Steal $100 million, and you're a hero.

(70,483 posts)My late father who was a professor had a long time
friend who was @ W. Georgia and they fired Newt's ass the 1st chance they had. He wanted to set up a his own semi private company to sell "his brilliance" when he published a paper in his field of study to which the college President told Newt that is what ALL professors do i.e. publish their work and Newt was not allowed to "double dip" and as soon as they could they fired him.
Btw Newt helped to make American politics toxic and he was run out of Congress on a rail and the Congressional gop was more then willing to help.

Dems had essentially nothing to do with sending Gingrich packing.
The Rs didn't help! They did it!
He was run out of town by his own party!!!
I know what you meant, but I didn't think you were strong enough at how much his own people loathed him.

(101,295 posts)since they claim to support small businesses. Collectively, what they're sitting on is orders of magnitude larger than $4 million.
That they don't pay such debts incurred "for the Republican party" shows they have zero integrity.
