How bad is the media? 90,000 preventable deaths vs the made up Timmy will get no toys for Xmas story

COVID-19 continues to be a leading cause of death in the U.S. in September 2021

Kaiser: 90,000 deaths from Covid-19 over the past four months were entirely preventable
COVID-19 was the third leading cause of death across most of 2020, but in December 2020 and early 2021, the illness surged and briefly became the number one leading cause of death in the U.S., far surpassing even cancer and heart disease deaths in those months.

With the rapid uptake in vaccinations in the months when vaccines first became widely available, COVID-19 deaths fell sharply. COVID-19 dropped to the number 7 leading cause of death in the U.S. in July 2021.

However, with the more infectious COVID-19 Delta variant, insufficient vaccination rates, and local and state governments easing up social distancing restrictions, COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths increased again. Vaccination rates are particularly lagging for younger adults and people living in certain states. As of October 7, 2021, about 78% of adults (ages 18+) in the U.S. have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose and over 50 million adults remain unvaccinated.

Christmas Toys Shortage Fears As Pandemic Disrupts Global Supply (BIDEN'S FAULT NO DOUBT)

Christmas may still be months away, but infrastructure experts and retailers are reportedly already bracing themselves over potential shortages this festive season.

The Marine Exchange of Southern California, which Newsweek has contacted for comment, has noted in its September 15 update how 61 container ships are anchored offshore.

This record number is being forced to wait in line for a week or even longer, to dock and then offload their cargo at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.

Does anybody really think that Walmart will not have tons of cheap plastic crap from China for Xmas?

They’re trying to drive up interest, so that people will run to their computers, and buy cheap crap now, instead of waiting?

I feel like I’m being told to go and buy stuff I don’t really need.

In 2008 he got real life death threats against a friend of mine who was Sec. of State of OH @
the time by spreading lies that she was working with ACORN to rig the vote in OH. Not a
milligram of truth to the story but some of Hannity's mouth breathing listeners/viewers believed
it and issued death threats against her.

Fox and the like are a cancer on America.

Every story of a family lost. Now the supply disruption is real and they’d be negligent not to discuss it. Even president Biden had a meeting about it. He must think it’s newsworthy.

Folks don't realize there are US Manufacturers (I work for one and Manage Compliance - including Trade) that are hobbled by not having parts and components that are NOT made in the USA.

The Global Supply Chain is NOT resilient. C-19 showed us this in a big way.

Toys get GOP's attention. They operate under the the misguided belief that only Coal and Oil 'matter'. They don't realize there are people who MAKE things in the USA. They don't care about a manufacturer in NJ's factory employees making $25 an hour. They don't care. They do NOT care unless it's their precious coal.

This gets their attention. They only care about toys from China.

It's effective.

when you recall that the GQP has been objecting to "big government" programs paid for by taxation like Social Security, Medicare, ACA, etc., pretty much since they were "threatened" by communism a century ago. Some assholes like Howard Hughes took extreme measures to avoid paying taxes. Would anybody be surprised to find out the Mercers or somebody like them were leading a gang of fat cats in board rooms and corporate media and their GQP pawns in government to create all kinds of public chaos and misery so they could blame it all on Biden and Democrats and finally do away with all that "big gubment communist" stuff that requires them to pay taxes (to support welfare queens in Cadillacs)?

And those aren't cheap toys from China.

My anti static ducts for Hyperscale Servers - made in the USA - are on those ships. The anti static are critical to ensuring we can post at DU - and no one is making them in the USA.

The entire trade debacle (301 Tariffs) have been a cluster fuck for Manufacturers in the USA.

Believe it or not - it's TRUE. There are actually Manufacturers in the USA who kept America running during the C-19 Pandemic and the same Pandemic has shown there is ZERO Resilience in the Global Supply chain.

Not just 'America' - globally. I know the man who wrote the white paper in August - to fix the issue at the LA port. My feedback was included in that White Paper.

I watch people train and bus it every day to make a minimum of $25 an hour - taking an 1.5 hours to get to work in NJ. They matter just as much as coal miners in West Virginia.
