He contends the Jan 6 committee is neither aggressive nor fast enough to be effective.
Agree or disagree?
I tend to agree with that assessment.

(9,998 posts)I completely agree. I'm expecting very little at this point. Downright embarrassing. I hope it doesn't seriously hurt the Democrats next year, but it probably will.

January 6th is pretty much history. If that is their plan it won't work.

(9,998 posts)If we come out of this looking pathetic, we're going to lose the House next year, and possibly the Senate. Book it.

Things are different now.

(7,699 posts)Because our so-called "liberal media" spend way too much time covering what some never-*rumper thinks about *rump or the republicants.
Wasted time and TV space helps no one.

(9,998 posts)Many of us happen to agree completely with this "never *rumper" as you call him. The truth hurts.

(37,152 posts)Rick Wilson is not exactly a prophet in the wilderness on this. There are a lot of people who hold the view and and can vigorously go into it on television.
Those people aren't spotlighted by the allegedly-liberal media. Instead, people who spent their careers creating this situation (but get very testy when you bring that up) are all over the air- and cable-waves. Democrats get slammed a lot for "not being good at messaging," but where is anyone going to hear the message when it gets drowned out by RW nutbar media and "mainstream" media where the people who fostered a Republican voting base that has become openly pro-fascist are spotlighted instead of looked at askance for only noticing the problem 5 minutes ago.
Wilson is saying something I agree with while he's working his latest paying gig. That's a little different than agreeing with him, a mercenary.

Sometimes being too careful makes for too weak.

1) Better communication between Capitol police, DC police and the military. If the enemy comes armed, then the military should be called in to defend the Capitol.
2) Shore up those windows!
3) Listen to the noise on social media.
