Back to the resistance in 2022

The monsters are driving decent people out of politics so these miserable fools are going to be in control of massive portions of the US state and local governments.

Life in the remainder of the 21st century is really really going to suck. Our job is to figure out how to make it suck as little as possible for the frail and innocent.

We need government employees to do what they can in anticipation. We need to accept that America is no longer a nation, we are going to be Balkanized.

To me one thing we really need to do is quit focusing on Trump and start focusing on the meanness, the pure rudeness of trumpism. Quit hiding the worst of them and instead put them on front display. Let people understand that these are the people that will be running things. And somehow get them to understand that their life will be worse not better.

We need to beat them but if we can't we at least need to fight them and tamper down the worst of what they want to do.

I'm sorry but they are excited and enthusiastic. We are burnt out and about to get crushed.

Remember we are the side that is stuck playing by the rules. We can't just flip the table over and say we don't like this hand like they do.

5. I have given up on relying on other people to do what they are supposed to do.

It is one of the constant kicks in the gut which is reducing my lifespan to the point where I may not even be here in 2025.

What you are saying is an ideal situation. Politicians doing what they are supposed to.

I'm an electronics technician and I have been a majority of my life going back to childhood. My thing is recognizing problems analyzing symptoms and finding and if possible repairing the root cause. That has left me way too stuck in the practical world to be able to appreciate grandiose idealization of what people are supposed to be doing.

I'm saying if people don't get off of their backsides and start paying attention do what is really going on instead of living in there burned out how bad could it get life we are in big trouble. We need to fight this before it happens and God forbid if it happens we need to be prepared to deal with it afterwards. Not going to surrender.

former student council presidents and the Republicans of this era are stone cold killers." He and Rick Wilson were discussing the response of Democrats to the threat of fascism and those intent on overthrowing our government.

Your call to resistance, yes! We must do better and more -- by being much smarter.

However, the notion that we're no longer a nation will not do as a call to arms to save it. We are still the envy of the planet and have everything to lose. Resistance must focus persuading people to save themselves and their nation from destruction.

Let Steve Bannon tell people their lives are going to suck if they don't tear the nation down, burn it up, and hand it over to tRump. He is doing exactly that.

Our message must be that the future will bring unprecedented wellbeing, if we protect it. It's true! Even with the climate crisis upon us, and it's critical that people be able to imagine good futures so they'll fight for them.

Most Republican voters support what we're trying to do through the infrastructure bills. We MUST be able to run on real achievements in 2022, and that means we must pass as much as we can and begin turning it into achievements people can see, including jobs, childcare, new skills training, money in their pockets.

That means we MUST pass the infrastructure bills. Pramila Jayapal threatened to refuse to pass anything rather than to accept less than demanded. A threat of zero achievement must have had McConnell and McCarthy practically hyperventilating, wondering if it might be possible that our grand plans for progressive action could end up under the bus again, and what can they do to help that dream, and with it theirs to once again control congress, come true...?

We MUST get working on real achievements so that by November 2022 people can see change happening in their own towns and jingling in their own pockets, already changing lives, creating good jobs people are already arranging to train for.

THAT's where our most fearsome resistance lies: Coming through with what people need.
