Anti-vaxxer: it's a reporter's job to check facts, not mine, but I'll sue if they do

Just to show the lack of logic, reason or reasonableness in these people:

Reached by phone, Long said she had heard about an employee revolt against a vaccine mandate at DIA and did not attempt to determine if it was true before sharing it on social media.

“I’m not a reporter,” Long said. “That’s your job.”

Long warned 9NEWS against airing a fact-check of her claim.

“I would not run this story if you consider libel a threat,” Long said.

The story:

Employee strike didn’t force Denver airport restaurants to close

CLAIM: The owner of five restaurants in Terminal C at Denver International Airport told employees they needed to get vaccinated for COVID-19 by Nov. 1 or they would be fired. None of the cooks, dishwashers, bussers or hosts showed up to work, so there were no restaurants open in Terminal C. The owner immediately sent an email reversing the vaccine mandate.

AP’S ASSESSMENT: False. “We have not had any concession employee strike, nor have any restaurants on Concourse C been closed other than their normal hours of operation,” said Alex Renteria, public information officer for Denver International Airport. “We can confirm this is false information.”

THE FACTS: Social media users this week are baselessly claiming that restaurant employees at Denver’s airport reversed a vaccine mandate by not showing up to work.

The message in the tweet, which was later deleted, circulated widely on Twitter, Facebook and the messaging app Telegram, despite offering no specifics or evidence that the incident occurred.

Truth & Facts are pretty meaningless in America. The last 18 Months, and in fact, far longer than that, have made me believe this 100%.
