With the $300 Million a day we're saving by withdrawing from Afghanistan

bennydiego @bennydiego 16m
With the $300 Million a day we’re saving by withdrawing from Afghanistan, can’t we spend that money on healthcare, infrastructure and such? Or does that money go back into the bloated $750 Billion+ a year defense spending?

... it's cumulative, I know, but say, if 20% of that was being spent a year in Afghanistan, it would total about $22 billion a year.

President Biden:

"After more than $2 trillion spent in Afghanistan — a cost that researchers at Brown University estimated would be over $300 million a day for 20 years in Afghanistan — for two decades — yes, the American people should hear this: $300 million a day for two decades.

If you take the number of $1 trillion, as many say, that’s still $150 million a day for two decades. And what have we lost as a consequence in terms of opportunities?"

As long as it doesn't improve the life of the average person. They need the "slave" labor who in turn can blame the "others" for their lot in life. All the money spent ends up at the top no matter how the government spends it.

Funny how we are either at war or preparing for one.

“I’m William Colby and I was the head of the CIA. The job of intelligence is to warn us of dangers to our military. Now the Cold War is over, and the military threat is far less. Now it’s time to cut our military spending by 50 percent and invest the money in our schools, health care, and our economy.”

We can see how that’s worked out.
