So whenever we are discussing these two people, keep this context in mind whenever you start getting precious about "supporting Democrats."
They are not serving their constituents by tanking Biden's agenda. Build Back Better is hugely popular in West Virginia, and Sinema is all but disowned by the Arizona Democratic party.
I suggest these two be greenlit for maximum censure on this board, up to and including the word "DINO," until they stop sabotaging Biden's agenda.

(10,428 posts)We are required to support them here. Apparently, even in their undermining of Biden. Amazing, isn't it. And it's not just Biden being undermined. Democracy and any possibility of Democratic control is at stake.
Some here take it further and insist we must "love" manchin.

Buy Manchin and Sinema.
Pay more than whoever now is corrupting them is paying.

(7,509 posts)But at this point, we need to reward the grownups too with a robust, intact legislation, abd future generations can't afford the alternative. So we need to buy off the holdouts.

(68,539 posts)infrastructure, we pass that and run on it and what is in the reconciliation bill to help win the midterms. Something is always better than nothing...we build on the infrastructure bill.

(7,509 posts)Remember the Obama stimulus bill in 2009 during the Great Recession?
We needed $2 trillion to recover the economy; we settled for $775 billion.
Economic recovery ended up being so slow that it cost Democrats the House in the following midterm.
We need $2 trillion just to fix the existing infrastructure. The bipartisan bill falls well short of that
What's most important is Democratic enthusiasm. If you kill legislation that is backed by the vast majority of the Democratic party, then you can kiss turnout and the 2022 midterms goodbye.
We cannot keep giving cover to bad actors who don't want Biden or Democrats to succeed. We need to squeeze them now. If they cost us politically in a material way, we need to crucify them.

Absolutely no words to defend those two senators.
Amazing.
