Before 1807, women voted in New Jersey

So today I learned that after independence, New Jersey allowed women to vote. The state constit referred to voters as “they.”

NJ moved backwards in 1807 after, get ready, “charges spread through the partisan press that the state's inclusive voter laws encouraged voter fraud”

So of course people thought that women cheat more than men, and Black people. They can’t get people to vote form so they blame the voters. I really didn’t realize the electoral process had been corrupted so early on

Women's Rights And Issues? Thanks in advance.

It is, sadly, completely unsurprising that this corruption has been going on since the beginnings of this political system.
