Manchin and Sinema are not going to support Bidens human infrastructure bill. They were never going to and now that is painfully clear.
Democratic leadership needs to figure out what they can do without them and move on.

(6,974 posts)Same here, although I almost got in trouble about comparing Melania to FLOTUS Michelle back in the day. I guess it's now 'okay' to call Melania a worthless, gold-digging slime ball and worse, since HER true colors were revealed (I knew about her true colors back in the day when she was/is a birther, saying that Pres. Obama's birth certificate wasn't real on The View. I was warned to NOT talk ill of a woman, who certainly spoke ill of THIS country and of THIS country's women, and everything else about THIS country).
As for Manchin & Sinema, both are worthless, rotten-ass, un-American traitorous slime balls.

Manchin should lose his coveted appointment as chair of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, especially if nothing gets done on these two bills. Then he won't be able to protect his son's coal company (the one Manchin himself started).

(8,029 posts)The whole thing smells rotten, but Manchin still keeps Chuck Schumer as leader of the Senate, so we'll take what we can get.

(8,327 posts)Without them there are 48 votes and nothing gets done, at least with the majority there is hope while other things like judges are moving forward
.
Lets not fool ourselves here. Unless we can elect an additional 3 democrats in 22 we have more years of this bullshit.

(6,974 posts)I have friends who still think that Manchin and Sinema are going to do the 'right' thing in the end.
I laugh so hard when my friends tell me this, because Manchin & Sinema are lost causes only interested in themselves and their $$$$$ They don't care if the GQP/US Taliban Party takes over this country with the mid-terms and presidency coming at us faster than hell .... And of course, most in the corporate media would love to see more tRump-inspired chaos & shenanigans coming from that party of soulless, racist, un-American heathens known as the GQP/US Taliban Party ..

(32,751 posts)He didnt see it being completed by the 31st, which is different than his op eds hes given. Sinema, has said she would go along with 3.5, not that she wouldnt go along with it at all.
I also think we need to let our dem leaders continue with their work and support them!! Completely!!

(28,813 posts)We have no idea what Biden and Pelosi are planning. Theyve done well so far. Im willing to stick with.
Trumpets supported the Wad no matter what. I wish Democrats would at least not complain and fear monger.
They support so well we still have to deal with trump.

(58,785 posts)Pramila Jayapal confirmed they'd spent 2 hours together, wouldn't say what they discussed, but said there would be passage.
Jayapal had previously stated she and her allies might kill the entire package rather than compromise further, so this is also very reassuring.

liberal ones are just products of the system that put them there.

(13,952 posts)could very well pass but it would be cut down significantly. A lot of important parts will be cut. Unfortunate, but better than nothing.

(3,283 posts)The problem will be how the bill is perceived by the voters. I have said as much before and continue to feel this way because the 2022 election depends on this perception.
