I, for one, am not surprised.

I studied political science in college in the 1970s. I never saw a reason why "it" could not happen here.

Germany was a flourishing democracy in the late 1920s, before Hitler was installed as dictator in 1933 after a series of economic blows.

Anyone who thinks - or who ever thought - fascism could not take root here, has not been paying attention.

Republicans lie like everybody else breathes air. But the Trump "stolen 2020 Election" lie is *the* most fact-free/substance-free lie of them all and it's frustrating and pathetic to see Republican politicians- some of whom are clearly smarter than this- latch on it out of fear of or in service to Trump.
