SpaceX could make Elon Musk world's first trillionaire, says Morgan Stanley

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2021/oct/20/spacex-could-make-elon-musk-world-first-trillionaire-says-morgan-stanley

Elon Musk, the world’s richest person, with an estimated $241bn fortune, could become the first trillionaire, an investment bank has predicted.

Analysts at Morgan Stanley forecast that Musk, who has made most of his wealth from the electric car company Tesla, could make much more money from his fledgling space exploration business SpaceX.

The analyst Adam Jones said the company, founded in 2002, was “challenging any preconceived notion of what was possible and the timeframe possible, in terms of rockets, launch vehicles and supporting infrastructure”.

He added: “More than one client has told us if Elon Musk were to become the first trillionaire ... it won’t be because of Tesla. Others have said SpaceX may eventually be the most highly valued company in the world – in any industry.”

Modern day Pharaohs ... Billionaire status is not enough, must horde more cash...

Here's the REAL question - how much of the WORK to design, build and test those rockets and systems did HE DO HIMSELF? 1%? 10%? 50%? His just compensation is NOT all of the company's evaluation (which is standard way most workers get fucked and most owners do the fucking)...his real value is not in being "the risk taker", it is in building an infrastructure to harness the talents of others.

At least race horses get put out to stud or become brood mares...seems like technology race horses get used, abused and can cheerlead while their "owner" becomes a trillionaire.

Fucking disgusting. If humanity survives the 21st century, future generations will look back on this as nothing more than modern day aristocracy and vanity projects to out "Versailles" each other between Musk and Bezos and Branson and others.

Want to really impress me? Give that money to the rightful generators of the value - the engineers and technicians that actually, you know BUILT IT!!!

So are you assuming NASA doesn’t know what they’re doing? Here’s the story….

NASA announced on Friday that it had awarded a contract to SpaceX for $2.9 billion to use Starship to take astronauts from lunar orbit to the surface of the moon. The contract extends NASA's trend of relying on private companies to ferry people, cargo and robotic explorers to space.

The NASA engineers and technicians and astronauts are the ones that make the value....not Elon Musk personally...my beef is not with technology or the people who make it a reality...it is with wealth hording asshats like Elon "I'm moving to Texas to avoid taxes" Musk...

The Moon will be a key outpost for journeys to Mars and the asteroids. It will be key to enabling the mining of asteroids. Water can generate oxygen and hydrogen, for both life support and rocket fuel.
