I don't follow football...college or professional...so I don't have a dog in this fight.

But.
Washington State U football coach Nick Rolovich was fired from his $3 Million per year job for not getting his Covid vaccination. And he has a 5 year contract. $15 Million.....
Rolovich is the highest paid public employee in the state.
He claims a religious exemption, and he's suing because he didn't get that religious exemption.
He's Catholic. The Pope has encouraged people to get the shot, calling it an "act of love... love for oneself, love for our families and friends, and love for all peoples."

Just because you are a hotshot coach and make $3 Million a year doesn't mean you aren't a dumbshit.

REfused the vaccination, all of them.
Imagining giving up a college coaching job because there is 1 vaccine out of 12 that you refuse.

He says he's suing the university.

There is NO "secret rule" out there for Catholics to avoid getting the vaccine.

This coach is full of BS, and he needs to lose this case in court. Let him pay all the costs for it too.
Wherever he goes for his next job, he'll be required to get vaccinated before he walks in the door.

Just sayin'

with exceedingly poor judgement, as the unfolding of this story illustrates.

His ass is fired. He deserves it. He won't win his suit as the Pope himself has urged people to get vaccinated so he can't religious exemption.

Just a dumb move, coach. Enjoy your unemployment.

I have seen this guy up close. He is a full fledged f****** moron. He can barely piece together a few coherent sentences. If people could see just how stupid and racist most of these coaches are, they might start fighting back on their bloated state funded salaries. If it is not football related, all their information comes from whichever turncoat took over Limbaugh's show or fox news.

I played in the Pac-12 and bounced around the league a bit, before I had to retire, and I can tell you that football coaches believe they are the center of the universe and that football is all that matters.

So long as trump, or some other facist, is running the country, you will never hear from them except on Saturday or Sunday. If a Democrat, or, worse, a black Democrat is in charge, they suddenly become political activists/experts and spew lies they heard on the ride to the gun club after practice.

the courts are very hesitant (and I appreciate that their reasons are not unreasonable) to determine a person's religious beliefs. As a result, a lot of right-wingers (who are mostly fake Christians, to begin with) are lying about their religious beliefs and getting away with it. There are even ministers online selling get out of vaccination notes for a price

They didn't know who they were reviewing.

He is purportedly Catholic, so this is a RTL objection. His position is likely based on the initial testing protocols' use of Stem Cell lines, derived from decades-ago voluntary 'bortions.

If that's a correct assumption, his position is more extreme than the Pope or the US Catholic Bishops: https://www.usccb.org/resources/memo-to-bishops-on-vaccines-for-covid-19.pdf

Those same protocols have been used on countless other medicines, many of which Rolo has probably used his whole life without even knowing. The staff at this hospital in AR had to attest that they would give them all up:
https://www.kark.com/news/health/coronavirus/arkansas-hospital-lets-staff-seek-vaccine-exemption-as-long-as-they-dont-use-other-meds-tested-on-fetal-cell-lines/

Tylenol, Tums, Pepto Bismol, Sudafed, etc.

Religious Suits Over Covid Shots Reveal Edge for Private Sector
Sept. 21, 2021, 6:08 AM
https://news.bloomberglaw.com/daily-labor-report/religious-lawsuits-over-covid-shots-reveal-private-public-divide
Companies have broad power to overcome religious objections to Covid-19 vaccine mandates while an early ruling shows potential limitations to government authority to require the shot.

A federal judge issued a temporary restraining order last week blocking the New York State Department of Health from interfering with employers granting religious exemptions to its vaccine mandate. A group of health-care workers brought a constitutional challenge against the state’s mandate, which calls on hospital and nursing home employees to get a first vaccine dose by Sept. 27.

Even though federal anti-bias law requires companies to accommodate workers’ religious objections to vaccine mandates, the U.S. Supreme Court’s 1977 decision in TWA v. Hardison gives them the leeway to deny such exemptions if they would impose more than a trivial burden on their operations.

“Right now, Hardison really is a barrier to protect what could be important private sector policies on vaccines,” said Frank Ravitch, a law professor at Michigan State University who’s written extensively on law and religion. “Employers could always say allowing Covid to spread is an undue burden.”

The interplay between protections for religious vaccine objections in the private and public sectors takes on added importance as the federal government readies a regulation to force large employers to require their workers to get inoculated against Covid-19 or submit to regular testing.
