(16,294 posts)They have no stores east of Texas, and a quick Google search found no evidence they are planning one. On the upshot, Louisville is getting a Jack in the Box.

I stopped even thinking of eating their burgers when I found this out.

(10,972 posts)They have bible verses on all their packaging and cups.
Retrograde
(10,129 posts)I do eat their food occasionally. They do not print Bible verses on their packaging. What they do print is a reference to a verse, and usually on the bottom of the containers so it's not easy to find unless you look for it. I think this "there are bible verses over everything" comes from people who've never actually patronized the place.
OTOH, they do pay well above minimum wage here, and apparently treat their employees well.
SoCalNative
(4,613 posts)is just as bad. It's only because there isn't enough room on those cup bottoms to print the actual verses they are referencing, or they would.
AZSkiffyGeek
(10,972 posts)I also eat their food and think their burgers are pretty good (Not the fries though).
Printing John 3:16 is still printing a Bible verse even if it doesn't say "For God so loved the world".
And they treat their employees so well that they expose them to disease.

(90,560 posts)I cant have In-N-Out every time Im on the road (cholesterol) but I have to tell you just a few days ago I stopped in somewhere else for a non-hamburger sandwich and got slop in the form of finely-shredded limp lettuce, smashed limp tomato slices, sodden bread from whatever the secret sauce was and the coffee was lukewarm.
In-N-Out has just been unfailingly fresh and crisp.
ON EDIT REGARDING RELIGION: I personally do not give a rip what their religion is or whether they print verses from their holy book on their disposable paper products. Are they imposing a religious test in their hiring practices? Do they discriminate against employees? Are they paying slave wages? If the answer to all that is No if it harms none, do what you will.
OTOH, once they enter the field of RW politics, I will oppose those behaviors.

(6,384 posts)They aren't too overt about it and the amount they do donate is usually fairly small. And they pay well and treat employee's good. Tommy's is better in my view, but they don't have as many locations. And they got fined not too long ago for underpaying their employee's.
If it was Chic-fil-a or Hobby Lobby, you would see an extra "0" on that amount.

(8,279 posts)it. They can do with their money what they want as far as I'm concerned. But to echo one of the above posters "pissed it all away" is definitely a fair point.
Mr.Bill
(24,240 posts)you are not following Department of Health directives. In San Francisco they are refusing to check for proof of vaccination for indoor dining. The Health Dept. shut them down and they have re-opened without indoor dining.
While San Francisco has a high vaccination rate and is doing well in the COVID battle, their restaurant is at Fisherman's Wharf so most of their clientele is going to be tourists from other areas, many of them from foreign countries. This is very irresponsible for their employees and customers.
ColinC
(8,279 posts)...and the fact they may challenge the vaccine requirements nationwide could dramatically change my opinion of them and lose them a customer.
Mr.Bill
(24,240 posts)so it makes it look like this is a corporate decision. Could be a rogue manager. If we had real Journalists on the local news here, they would have looked into that.
ColinC
(8,279 posts)I mean, I imagine there are already in n outs in plenty of vax card places -or at least will be. Lots of in n outs in Los Angeles, so if it is a corporate thing and not just a rogue manager, we should find out soon enough.

any business where I had already decided that I didn't care for their product.
And even if I did like them, I have since moved to somewhere where the nearest location is 135 miles away.
