I guess I should just remain patient

While Manchin and Simena block all the progress that 98% of the Democrats and 2/3 of the country want.
I'll stay patient, as I have been told to do so by so many here as nothing of substance is passed and the Trump Administration goes unprosectuted and unpunished.
I'll remain patient as we lose the Congress next year because the Demorats "haven't done anything".
Most voters do not pay attention to inside politics and don't understand the nuances of exactly who is doing what and who are causing the problems. And the MSM does not help them understand.
But I will be patient, as I am repeatedly told to just wait and see.

and a deal will be reached. The two recalcitrant senators have caused us months of headaches and delays we could've done without. They are so obviously tied to their donors and corporate interests it's not even funny.

Manchin is in a red state and many say we are lucky to have him and therefore we can't primary him. As for Sinema, she's definitely getting primaried when the time comes as she's done much damage to the party.

But back to the issue. We'll get a deal, but a much reduced one.

on a all too small infrastructure bill.
But:
No election reform
No tax reform
No movement on Climate Change
No accountability for Trump or his criminal enterprise
No change in Medicare
and on and on and on.

We were in need of Roosevelt magnitude progress, without it, I fear we will become a failed nation.

which gives power to the minority, and in this case with a fifty-fifty balance, power is in the hands of two senators who act more like republicans than Democrats.

No holding back. We are justified in laying the blame entirely at their feet and if we don't get a deal that helps in obvious ways to voters, we will lose in the mid-terms and our Congressional majorities will be gone and so will our democracy.

The nation is on the brink.

We got this far to fail at the end. A lousy filibuster gives the ability for McConnell to rule. Minority rule is going to be the end of us.

Call your representative or Senator... Call Manchin's and Sinema's office.

What are your ideas about what we can all do to effect change?

Complaining about the ineffectiveness of the actions and tactics of Democratic Party members on an internet forum where that is a violation of the TOS does not seem like a great option so again,

What is it you want to do that will actually make a change?

There is nothing I can do.
If Biden and Schumer can't get these two Senators in line, do you really think there is anything I can do that will change what is happening.
If Garland doesn't move on Trump and his gang, do you think I can make it happen.

I support those I hope will make a difference. I do not have the power to effect change myself.

What would you have me do?

Be patient? I say that jokingly of course. I understand the frustration.

I have heard it said, that going to the local Democratic Precinct and talking to them about joining the Party Aparatus, might give you a voice, greater than what you have now. I think that some DUers are even electors.

It sucks to think that we have no power, and the reality is that we definitely have very limited power, but there are some ways of getting involved. I have canvased recently. I am trying to get more involved in my Union.

I think that people have a valid reason to be frustrated and express that, but there will always be the reaction of people who see that frustration as unwarranted criticism against our elected officials. I get frustrated with Shcumer, but then, I don't know, as well as he does, what the consequences are for pissing Manchin or Sinema are right now.

Now they got our vote, they need to do what needs to be done and only they have the power to get done.

Really don't understand the condescending attitude and demand that we do what we elected them to do.

I can't waltz in to the Senate and end the filibuster. But Schumer can.

Cindy Sheehan gave up her marriage, job, and friends and went to Crawford where she camped out. For a time, she was very effective.

My advice to you is the same as what I follow for myself. I work hard on what I can control and accept that which I cannot. There is nothing that I'm willing (I'm not going on a hunger strike or get arrested for civil disobedience) to do that can make Manchin and Simena vote the right way so, in my view, what happens will happen. I hope for the best possible outcome but will accept whatever the outcome turns out to be and I don't stress about it.

I don't stress about mine. I'm certainly not going to stress about something that may or may not happen. Trump winning in 2024 and destroying the nation. Hell, he may drop dead before 2024 and you would have spent so much time worrying about nothing.

For Manchin, as I posted in another topic a few minutes ago, we need him far more than he needs us. We have no leverage over him.

Simena makes far less sense, but pressuring her remains moot if Manchin is still an issue.
