General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsWednesday there was a vote on the "Drug-Free Communities Pandemic Relief Act", H R 654...
Two-thirds "Yea" was required to pass, the final vote was 395-30. Of the "Nay" votes, 29 were republican and only one Democrat.
Has anyone heard why that Democrat voted "Nay"?

They gave no reason?
Maybe MSM will ask for an explanation.

(15,325 posts)..until THIS NO vote is addressed.
Denying Communities assistance to fight the very monster that keeps their people from being lifted to their better selves, is well proven as one of the very reasons for homelessness & the struggles of those trying to escape that life.
Wasn't Addressing Homelessness one of her key cries for help?
And she votes NO?!
The taxpayers who pay the legislaors salary & benes really deserve an explanation, considering her rally cry for the poor, homeless, & downtrodden of our society.
What was that Capitol Step sleepover for afterall, if not for this very progressive bill.
She voted, NO. The only Democrat

(2,570 posts)wanted, I don't know why and am not endorsing the vote. I just looked up who it was and posted, I was surprised, but have seen this before from both sides, a symbolic of a sometimes personal nature where it will not affect the outcome but did allow a signal or statement. I have no idea for the reason for Bush's vote and make no justification and am only offering speculations based on similar past votes.

(15,325 posts)What was that Capitol Steps show about, if not what this very bill represents?
We are right to hold them all accountable for their words & actions.

(15,325 posts)There's no 'well maybe' about it.
Her NO vote to a bill supporting the very thing she'd just spent the summer publicly advocating for, deserves an explanation from her.
Waiting......

(2,570 posts)Rep. Bush I will consider to have been a politically motivated directive to uphold the claim of, strongly bipartisan.
