Florida AG's Staff Called Texas AG Ken Paxton's Lawsuit to Overturn Other States' Election Results '

Lawyers with the Florida Attorney General’s Office said a lawsuit filed by the Texas Attorney General’s Office surrounding the outcome of the 2020 election was “batshit insane” and “weird.” That’s according to a cache of more than 1,400 pages of emails obtained by the advocacy group American Oversight.

Texas AG Ken Paxton (R) attempted to sue the states of Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin over alleged “irregularities” in states won by President Joe Biden late last year. Republicans were hoping wins in those key states would instead be handed to Donald Trump.

Florida AG Ashley Moody (R) spoke out in support of the Texas lawsuit shortly after it was filed. The cache of emails indicates that some of those who work for Moody were not impressed by her desire to connect her state with the since-failed litigation.

Deputy solicitor general Evan Ezray noted that the Texas filing was “interesting” because it did not appear to have originated from the Lone Star State’s solicitor general’s office.
